Sure you know what cross-connections are. It's when you say something, and the other person understands something different.

Sometimes it's as simple as whether you pronounce that red vegetable "tomaato" as in England, or "tomayto" as in America.
Whether you say "sabroso!" or "que rico!"

And sometimes it's when you say you'll call someone; do you mean "I'll ring you up on the phone" or "I'll call you to my home"?

Never happened to you? Wait till you travel some more! The more people you meet, the more you realize that you are not always connecting clearly.
