Vampirism is seen in many different ways and everyone has a different view on it. I see vampirism as a need for energy. As energy beings we all have energy. We all cycle energy and are constantly exchanging it with things around us. Vampires are very aware of this energy, and need to consciously cycle it. If they do not they can become ill, often getting migraines and other physical ailments and can become lethargic. Symptoms vary from person to person. There are different ideas as to what makes a vampire a vampire. The way I see it is that for some reason vampires have subtle body flaws, whether it is that they are otherkin and their subtle body does not fit in with the physical human body or that they have a missing/damaged chakra that may not process or hold energy properly. There may not be a set reason for a person's vampirism, perhaps it also varies from person to person. Vampires are not immortal, they cannot fly, they have reflections etc. In other words throw away everything you think of when you hear the word vampire. We are not mythical creatures, we are not Anne Rice characters. Vampirism is not even the right word for the condition but unfortunately someone felt that it was at some point and now it is the common to be called that. I am using it only because it is common, if possible I would use another term.
