Water Iris{hardy} blooms for 3~4 weeks, and then has an attractive fan appearence. Sweet Flag is an evergreen marginal and grows well in the stone which covers the bottom of your pond. Water Parsnip is a late blooming perennial that blooms into Fall. Once it is frosted it will last into December and has a wonderful Winter presence.
Arrowheads {tropical} will flower all season with constant dead~heading. Hardy varieties are available, but have less blooms.
Marginals grow at the edge {or margins} of ponds and streams, in the shallow water.
The tropical {annual} variety has a more flamboyant appearance but of course must be replaced each year.
{Cattails will also last through a frost giving that Winter Presence.}
