The Relationships

The odds are you will be reading this knowing what most of the ships involved will be (maybe because we've told you in the summary ;)) but here is an explanation and a guide to the main relationships & friendships that will be the focus throughout this fic. Be warned though - nothing is ever as simple as 'happy ever after' in this fic and things are very much subject to change (depending on our grand plan and just how evil we feel while writing a particular part.)

~ Dean Thomas & Hannah Abbott ~

These two are the main focus of the fic. The reason - we love them! Truth be told as we began planning this fic we had very little idea of what Hannah's personality was actually like and then came Order of the Phoenix and if anything we discovered that Dean and Hannah complimented each other perfectly. (And who wants to argue with canon?)

The basis of the Dean/Hannah relationship here is on the concept that she is a Pureblood whereas Dean is a Muggle born wizard and how their relationship develops in the new wizarding world where the Death Eaters are in control.

~ Ron Weasley & Hermione Granger ~

What can we possibly say about this pairing? It is as close to a sure thing in canon as you are ever likely to get and as such we are both massive fans. It really wouldn't feel right for us to write this without giving them a nice big, dramatic role.

Much like Dean and Hannah's relationship the main crux of the Ron/Hermione arc will focus on the problems caused on their relationship by the newly appointed Ministry. Unlike Dean and Hannah though, their problems are confounded by the fact that they are Harry Potter's friends and as such are amongst the innermost circle of the resistance.

~ Seamus Finnigan & Parvati Patil ~
