Seems like forever

It seems like forever since we have spoken,
Uttering words of love to each other.
There is comfort, however, in knowing
Although we have yet to embrace,
Although we have yet to share a kiss,
I still see your kind, gentle face,
And the sound of your voice I still miss.
The vision of touching your skin,
The anticipation of holding you tightly
Sustains me each day from within.
As time nears for us to finally meet,
I anticipate the ways we might greet.
It seems like forever since we met
And discovered a feeling we can't forget.
In love, trust and desire I know you'll return.
