Reminiscing

I sat among the glistening sand
Remembering how gently you held my hand
As the golden sun sank into the sea
You held me close as you kissed me.

You sang to me your song of love
As glittering stars twinkled above
And held me gently in your arms
Embellishing me with your youthful charms.

We walked hand in hand along the golden shore
Planning our future and desiring even more.
We talked of how wonderful our life would be
While seagulls gathered over the sea.

As the tide came in and palm trees swayed.
We reminisced about the love we made.
Our sweet caresses still fresh in our mind,
A love like ours no others could find.

Alas, our dreams weren't meant to be
Time sent us on our separate ways
Each yearning in our restless hearts
To return to our independent days.

Now just friends always and forever,
Reminiscing good times spent together.
People come into our lives for a season
And one day we'll know the reason.

For you I wish only happiness
And beautiful words of love to confess
To the one who truly is your soul mate.
