I'm sorry I couldn't accept you.
I'm sorry I had to part.
I'm sorry I had to reject you,
But I felt I needed a new start.

I guess that I'm only human
Reality showed it's ugly face.
The dreams I had are now hidden
The truth has taken it's place.

I tried but I couldn't do it.
I cannot deal with deception.
You failed to fulfill your promise
So now love has moved to rejection.

I know that we're only human
And life is so precious and short.
Humanity is sometimes heartbreaking
And pain results as we part.

I'm only human but I'm honest
I see no point in prolonging
The inevitable big disappointment
Of trying, but never belonging.

I'm sorry I thought I loved you
Enough to accept any fate,
I placed no other above you
But, alas, we found love too late.

I'm only human and set in my ways.
It's too late to change my life,
So I'll move on to brighter days
And avoid the inevitable strife.

We said we would try and we did.
My honesty was truly blatant,
