The land mass known as Dynam is roughly 3 000 000 square miles.
On it's northwestern end, live the Orcs on the plains. They are a noble race, while not entirely concerned with personal honor, they have a very iron fisted sense of justice.
The northeastern end of Dynam was destroyed years ago, leaving islands in the vacume of land. This place quickly became known as the Sea of Shards. The Gnomes are known to inhabit this place.
WesternCentral Dynam lies the dessert, and the enigmatic Dwarves. Little is actually known about these stout and hardy folk, but if you need them in the dessert and you are worthy, they will find you.
On the Southwestern end of Dynnam lies the grasslands and the great river delta. The easily 6 ft. high grass makes the place an ideal living place for the elves. These humaniod creatures have a very uptight and refined culture resembling much of Japanese culture. They embrace their version of Bushido and have taken upon the Katana and similar weapons.
In the mountain ranges of eastern central Dynam, the Kobolds and Halflings coxist...or attempt to. Few find reason to journey to the mountains. Both however, find time and resources to journey out. Both races have a reputation of being underhanded and of questionable morals.
On the vast expanses of the Southeastern and southcentral Dynam lie the jungles and heavy forests. Goblins roam through the woods as masters of the arcane arts. Most known arcane magic can have it's origins traced back to the first goblin magicians and wizards.
Humans are creatures not originally native to the continent of Dynam. Their history is long and they are perhaps one of the longest lived races on the plane, but they existed on another continent lost in the pages of history. The knowledge remembered only by few who hold enough blood ties to know. On their pilgramage to Dynam, they landed on the southern and western coasts primarily, where they encountered much of the Elves, Goblins, Orcs, and surprisingly enough, the Dwarves. By other unknown means, some humans ships appeared in the Sea of Shards and made contact with the Gnomes and Orcs in the area.
The sea of shards is an enigma to Dynamians. Many experts would consider the place a temporal hazard, such would explain many strange occurances there, as well as the odd appearance of Humans in the midst of the islands.
