I've known ladies who could out mechanic ninety nine percent of guys any day, and I've
known guys who knew nothing more than, "You turn the key and it goes, if it doesn't go,
call a mechanic."
Well, there's no shame in not knowing, but if you're gonna do the job, do the research! Then
you will know.
I am not an automotive professional, nor am I some sort of automotive guru. My aim is simply to provide
help if I can, to anyone who needs it. Like many of you, I have wrenched on all types of autos
over the years. Kept stock vehicles running, built hi-po engines and power trains, designed
frames and cages, hammered mucho custom body work, custom painted all sorts of vehicles,
shoehorned a lot of big engines into small engine bays and generally enjoyed myself as far
as my pocket book would allow.
This site was inspired by the fact that almost any time I went to look up any auto information
on the web, it either wasn't there, or someone wanted me to pay for it, or buy something. Now
I'm all for free enterprise, but I was getting real frustrated and I thought, "If I can't find it, I'll
put it there." Plus the fact that I was seeing more and more 'how to, what can I do, what if/can
I do this and what specs queries in the various automotive news groups.
In this site there'll be basic information, and there'll be more in-depth information. I will
include reference tables and formulas.
You won't find a lot of pics of cool rides or racing pics 'cos that uses up too much of your time
to load.
The catagories you see, will be added to as I process the information. I would be more than
happy to accept tips n' tricks or corrections from any and all persons who have them, be you expert
professional or new to the joys of the automotive world. If the information is not in my data
base, then they will be credited with the information. Be aware though that I have been
collecting automotive data for the last 37 years and it amounts to a fair bit of stuff.
This site is not meant to replace your trusty autospecific manual, but to add to it's usefulness.
Unfortunately I can't have all info on all automotive products, but I'll try to have as big a
cross section as I can manage.So if you have a stock ride, a beater, a pro street, or your own
weird and wonderful creation, you might just find the info for you, right here.
