The Family Room Family is really a big part of who I am. I hope to have pictures here soon of various members of my family..so keep checking back. My family is pretty small. Right now, it consists of myself, the oldest of four children, my sister Jeannine, my brother Jerry and my youngest sister Lorene. We are all in our 30's and I'm not saying who's what age, because I would like to live a little bit longer...lol. A little bit about each one. |

Jeannine..aka G-9 or "Little Vito" Somehow...genetics...Jeannine ended up not looking like the rest of us. The rest of the siblings are comparatively tall, 5'10" or taller and have dark brown hair. Jeannine on the other hand is 5'4" and has blondish hair. We kid Jeannine alot about representing the "vertically challenged"..but what she lacks in heighth..she makes up in heart and determination. Jeannine's the kind of woman who will take anything and anybody on. She's sorta that "in your face" type of person..hence the name Little Vito..you know the person who the mafia sends to collect. She's a hard worker and has more strength then a lot of men I know. She's a person who knows a lot of people and a lot of people know her. Definitely outgoing..definitely feisty. Which you will note is a trait that all the women in my family have. Independent and ready to kick butt. She is married, her husband's name is Shawn and they have two great kids. Aaron (8) and Ashley(6). These two kids are blond Tasmanian Devils...full of energy, smart and sassy. Ashley's nickname is "Diva with a 'tude' ". My brother-in-law Shawn is very talented..he's very musical, can play the piano wonderfully, can sew (put together Jeannine's wedding dress) and can cook up a storm. He's very funny, although sometimes a smartass. But they definitely make a good couple. |

Jerry..aka Switzerland or "The Brain" Jerry is one of those guys who taught himself everything he knows about computers. He's a network administrator and has worked in the industry for well more years than I can count. We work at the same University in different departments. It's not bad working with your brother..most days..grins. Of the four of us, he's probably the most even-tempered and usually tries to stay neutral during family quarrels. He is the keeper of a myriad of useless knowledge..those are his words not mine. But if you have some kind of trivia you want answered..ask Jerry. He likes to do things in his spare time like read about physics. Beyond the brains, he has common sense and a dry wit. He surprises me a lot with his humor. He's also married. His wife Heather and him have a son Jacob (7). Jacob is an only child and very smart. He loves Pokemon and can read well beyond his age level. He's a great kid, and has a neat sense of humor. My sister-in-law Heather, loves to scrapbook and has done some awesome things with that. Me, I've done one page...lol. She loves the color purple and cows. She wants one of those Scottish Highland cows...well I think those are the ones..but sorta hard to have one in the city. |

Lorene...aka Louie or Reen Being the youngest has it's advantages. For one you can blame stuff on the oldest when you are growing up. (Yep a little bitterness..lol) Seriously..Lorene's motto is "I'm the baby, gotta love me." Well she is loveable. Lorene or Louie as my one uncle calls her..by the way I wouldn't call her that it irritates the hell out of her...is very artistic. In that I mean the woman can take a tin can and make something breathtaking out of it. She's a wiz with crafty things. Looks at it once and has the pattern down. She's got a soft heart and is very loyal to her friends. She's another one who knows a lot of peopls and a lot of people know her. She and Jeannine have that knack..of just starting up conversations with people and making friends. Jerry and I are a little on the reserved side.."watchers" as our mother used to say. Lorene is married, her husband's name is Scott. Scott and Lorene live on a farm and do the whole farming thing. Scott has two boys; Jeremy (16) and Brad (?) from another marriage. Lorene considers them her boys and does all the parent things with them, schoolwork, etc. It's not easy raising teenagers she'll tell you. Jeremy and Brad are pretty quiet, well Jeremy is. They are both smart boys and have great senses of humor. It's a little tough coming into a family you don't know..but they become part of our family. |

Father (Paul) Both of our parents have passed away. Our father in 1987, at the age of 57, and our mother in 2000, at the age of 60. Both died way too young of heart attacks brought on as complications of diabetes. My father was a handsome man..of course all daughters think their father is handsome. He was a definite "people" person, could talk a person's ear off. I think I inherited the talking the ear off thing...lol. He was in the air force in the Korean War, as a military policeman. He worked a lot of different jobs, was a hard worker, worked in road construction. He was very patriotic and was in the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations. My mother and him were divorced when I was 12, so we didn't get to see him a lot. He had a great sense of humor and a great smile. |

Mother (Myrna) My mother, was a tall women, 5'10" and had auburn hair. She's definitely where the three of us girls got our independence from. Mom loved music. She sang all the time. Albeit, not very well and didn't care if she knew the words..didn't matter,..she sang. She also loved to tell stories about family members from her side of the family and would do "voice" for them. Well imitations of their voices..like Uncle Carl who was German. It was very funny. Unfortunately she suffered from manic depression, which if you don't know anyone who has this..it's a terrible disease. In a lot of ways, it's worse than any demon you can imagine..for the person and sometimes the family. She definitely believed in family and wanted all of us to stay close. She was a strong woman..taking care of 4 children ranging from 12 to 8 on her own after her and my father divorced. . It was important for her that we all went on to get as much education as possible. She had never graduated from highschool and took her GED and passed while in her mid forties. It was a very proud day for her and for us as her children. I learned a lot from her...never give up...follow your dreams |
