This section of my page is dedicated to helping my fellow monti high debators, particularly the novices. this page is sorted into a few general sections. first, i have posted links to major research sites as well as other debate sites. second, i have uploaded various files, mainly guides to debate, for u to download and read. thirdly and finally, i will be keeping an ongoing section of everyones accomplishments.

here are the major research sites and search engines that i recomend:

Lexus Nexus - what can be said about the BEST resource online for researching. with uploaded copies of every newspaper and law journel ever written (well maybe not quite, but close!) lexus is where its at for serious researching. it does require a passcode to get in, though, and a rather expensive one at that. so im not going to post the code - you'll have to get it from me.

Associated Press - this is the official site of the associated press. very usefull for searching the ap newswire on major political events internationally. this is a good place to go for updates, after lexus, of course.

New York times - this site is the online version of the new york times. if ur too lazy to cut the real deal, u can go online and do it. well this site obviously doesnt cover many different sources, it is usefull as a base or a start to ur updates.

Dogpile - this is my meta-search engine of choice. what is a meta-search engine? well, instead of using just one engine to find results, dogpile uses dozens of different search engines, including altavista and yahoo, to give you a much broader range of information. using this is usually hit or miss - either you get what ur looking for or you strike out completly. good luck, and good searching!

Library of Congress - this is a great site for searching for that hard to find bill ... WAIT NO - NOTE TO ME: JUST ADD LINK TO .GOV PORTAL - MORE SITES INVOLVED

i have to get all my old helpful novice tips files from my old computer... also, when the time comes i will upload copies of other usefull things. stay tuned. (i do have the whole summer to do this...)

this section, too, will have to wait, but for different reasons. i cant start putting down results until the new school year, when we actually start debating again!
