Monster of Rock!
Freedom Bar Sept. 15 2001 7pm onwards. It's an accesible venue with in the city where I work. Speaking of work, I'll go out at 5pm, get my wife in the mall & go straight to the place. Calculating the time, I thought we will be there by 6:30, but fuck!!! the bus we rode are for fucking tourist and the driver has the illusion that all corners of the road is a filthy bus stop! Doesn't even give shit about a cop pounding on his bus!! Damn... So we arrived at about 7:30, I thought I would miss a band but the gig haven't started yet. I met Christian 'The Visionaire', organizer & vox of 'Rage of Iscariot' & have some chat. 'Funeral Frost' is already there & got to meet Joven & the guys. They come all the way from Laguna, south province of the city. Some members of 'Incarion' are also in the area. Most of the bands haven't arrived yet. Christian & his wife is talking how to make the start 'coz a line-up of the bands is already made...and time is ticking....Vro of 'Metal Havoc' came with his friends. More chats with them & Christian..blah..blah..blah... Some MP3s are available here but these were recorded using an ordinary voice recorded. So you can at least have a taste of the musick! The first band is 'Motherfuzz'. Band name sounds a bit 'fuzzy'...I mean
punky.. to me so at 1st I don't know what I'm gonna hear
& as they are setting up on stage...ugh 2 ladies
& a lad? 1 lady is even the drummer. They do play
good metal! Damn Good!! Its nice to see brutal ladies
playing metal and the drummer is killer!!! A nice starter
for the gig! |

Tomb came and they are as Extreme Brutal Deathster as they are in the previous gigs, now doing covers of the BlackDeath Gods Deicide!!! Vro & I got a chance to chat w/ these brutal young lads after their set & we always ask about original musick, so we found out they do have plans of doing & recording original tracks in the near future. For now, since the big brutal death bands don't really go to our country to play, Fuck! They are the next best thing!! So watch out for the progression of this band!!! For Extreme Death Fucking Metal Heads!!! Ressurected..a 3 piece band on a Heavy Thrash Metal! I like what I heard so I rush to meet the guitar/vox after the set to know if they played originals, they did not, but they already have some recordings of their real stuff! So I hope I can get hold of it soon... The chat was real quick 'coz 'Funeral Fost' is already chilling the stage inside! |

Funeral Frost - Black Metal & they covered songs of Cradle of Filth even without keys, but they manage to get that Gothic Vampyric Atmosphere! Specially w/ the hermaphrodite vocal power of their vox! Before all this started Joven gave me a copy of their rehearsal tape & bio. As of this writing i have heard of their original tracks...well this will sound like a review of that so I better put that on the review section...just watch out for the cold breeze that will come your way...cold dark black metal! |

Guardian Crucifix - An all original Death Thrash! Yup! I did like what I heard from the previous gig (Klub Fluids) but I was mis-informed that they were doing covers. I should have asked them directly..but NO!!! Sometimes I'm just a dum ass! But now, before the gig, I was tipped off that all of those songs are originals! Before they started the vocalist did clear that up too. And they just Trashed the stage! Brutal Death Thrash that is!!! Here is a raw recording that night. I didn't quite get the title even though the vocalist do tell them before onslaught..sounds like "Rule of Darkfall" but I'm not quite sure! Contact them please.... |

Sky Church - I thought they can't play?? Well before the gig Christian introduced me to one of the members & he said he's alone & the others can't make it. I said I was looking forward to see them 'coz Ted (of 'SIFT' band from babe..eerr..bay area CA) is asking about 'em. So they managed to show up after all. And this is Aggressive & Angry Metal Core!!! Incarion - Unholy deception batman! It's the Philippines' Legendary Lords of Blasphemies!!! All original Fast, Raw & Blasphemic Black Metal Assault!!! Their first 2 songs was a bit off 'coz the guitars' volume is a little low, so they adjusted it & the attack continues. They dedicated this last song to all the Black Hearts!!! "Coffin of Death" or "Death's Coffin"
or "Your Coffin" hahaha..). Seems like the
finishing touches, so they just Thrashed us away w/ a
cover of Death Angel! Additional death musick that just
put an exclamation mark for the gig!!! But there was a
mis-conception here, they were not actually the last
band, there's another one. Almost all think they were,
good thing the last band invited their friends! |

already 3:30 am Sunday. Said goodbye to all new friends
& contacts. Ate at a nearby food house. I thought the
fun stops there. Hell No!!! Since the fucking taxi don't
want to give us a ride, we (Me & My wife) decided to
catch a bus instead, in the main thoroughfare. And this
bus rode like a killer bus flying through the road as if
being chased by 6 demons!! Wwwwhhheeeee..... Some other highlights (I think...), Vro sat near the huge speakers...hey are your ears OK??? !!! Free Tits!!! Hmmm..only to the lucky ones! What was that again? 6 o'clock?? Damn! Don't ask me, ask Christian & Vro, I'm an unlucky bastard hahaha!!! Next gig will be in Bulacan, Oct. 30, a halloween gig in a haunted house??? To the metalheads who were there will notice that some bands are not in this web page. Mmmmm...I remember my spiritual adviser telling me "If you have nothing good to say, SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!"....and I say no more....
