Patricia velazquez sets the stage in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns as the Pharoah's mistress Anck-sunamun. She kills herself after the Medjai capture Imhotep whom she loves for eternity. Imhotep then tries to bring her back later but the Medjai stops him and the ritual cannot be completed. Nine years later in The Mummy Returns we see her as Meela, a reincarnation of Anck-sunamun searching for Imhotep's remains so they can ressurect him and be together forever.
