Oded Fehr sets the stage in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns as the sword wielding Ardeth Bay, a heroic Medjai leader. Ardeth Bay and his people, the Medjai, have been guarding Imhotep from being discovered and reborn into this world until Rick, Eveyln, and Jonathan accidentally awake him. Helping them along the way to Ahm Shere to find their kidnapped son, Ardeth Bay fights against pygmies, mummies, and walls of raging water. Also, leading an army of Medjai warriors, Ardeth Bay fights against the great Army of Anubis. Besides providing his skillful swordsmanship and witty personality, Ardeth Bay helps guide Rick towards his destiny and helps him to understand his past.
