-[ Trance In general:
In general Trance
is more quiter realted to hardhouse and dance music, but often
gets harder than most other genres due to its largely diverse
sound. Its much more dreamy in a sense. Trance blends harmonic
sounds into addictive melodies wihtout bursting your ear drums
or giving you a headache. The main reason trance got its name
is because when listening to it, a lover of trance music can
be taken under a trancitic or hypnotic state. Trance can be
calming at times or can make the listener Hyped. Most of the
time you auctually feel somethin while listening to the music,
its not just the kinda music u put on in the background, trance
requires your full attention.
Trance is much more indepth than other styles and forms of
electronica music, it has longer build ups, better peaks,
more melodies and much more catchy rhythms.

Hard Trance (NRG):
As the name suggests, this is tha harder style of trance.
With big BASS, thumping sounds and a very fast BPM, this type
of trance really gets people rocking. Altho it can move into
the more darker and harder side which many people do not prefer,
this seems to be making a big comeback lately with many clubs
specialising in this style.
Artists: Hennes and Cold, Nick
Fish, Dumonde, Nick Sentience, Thomas Trouble, George Acosta,
Scott Project.

Progressive Trance:
The Progressive style of trance is more of a generalised style.
Its not as hard as hard trance, but still can have a fairly
fast beat. Its more lay back in a sense. This is one of the
more 'commercialised' genres. With many well known DJ's choosing
this as their style of choice, it is a very popular genre.
This genre, can be a building block on many first time listeners,
as it gets them interested in the scene and can lead to the
apreciation of all other styles.
Artists: John Digweed, Oaky (old
style), Carl Cox, Tiesto, Corsten.

Uplifting Trance:
Uplifting trance is and can be mistakened with progressive.
There is most of the time a very fine line between the two.
Uplifting trance has alot more peaks and usually starts off
slower and picks up as the song goes along. Eventually it
builds up and goes off after numerous peaks. This style is
one of my more preferred genres as it really gets me going.
It brings out the emotions in the listener, and for a true
lover of trance; it really gets them rocking.
Artists: PVD!, Tiesto, Ferry
Corsten (Gouryella), Armin, M.i.k.e.

Acid Trance:
Trance music that uses the squelchy, acid sounds generated
by the Roland 303, also known as The Acid Box. The same sounds
that define acid house blended with the hypnotic elements
and journey motifs of trance.
Artists: Kai Tracid

Chilld`(Chillout) Trance:
Chilld trance as yet again the name suggests is a more relaxed
and layback style of trance. This combines slower beats, dreamier
tunes, relaxing melodies and layback sound effects to produce
a most unique style of trance that can calm most people down.
This style takes ones mind to other places and relaxes them.
With this ambient style of trance being used for most ravers
comedowns it does have a larger range of listeners. Usually
this style needs for you to be in a certain mood to fully
enjoy it, but other than that it is a most beautiful style
and very easily enjoyed.
With more and more artists allready releasing their own remixed
chill out tracks, and the infamous Gatecrasher series allready
including chillout cd's in their compilations this genre is
set to expand!
On various occasions i can sometimes get my parents into this!
Artists: Chicane, Sasha (nuest
cd), Kinobe, Robert Miles, Dario G.

Goa/Psy Trance:
Goa trance is more of a harder, faster style of trance.
Encorporated with trippy sounds, weird clips, this is more
of a style for the 'hippy' styled raver or the older more
mature listeners of the genre.
Also known as Psychedelic trance to some.
Artists: Miranda, Astral Projection.

Hardhouse:
Well as the name suggests, this is the harder side of house
music. This style blends trippy effects, reloop'd instruments,
and weird voices into a fast passed uplifting happy kinda
feeling tune. Its more for the younger generation of ravers,
and usually appeals to the less music matured crowd and others
who dont really know how to appreciate the more in depth styles
of trance. This style usually gets most of the radio airplay
aswel as it can get most people dancing along to it and seeing
that it is very repetative its easy for people to recognise.
It can be a fun style to cruise in ur car to, or to start
off a party. But do be warned that with much listening of
this style it can become very annoying at times.
Artists: Nick Skitz, 666, KlubbHeads,
Scooter, Dune, Mario Pui.
