Breaking with
The Devil
Saint
Alphonso Maria de Ligouri (1696-1787), founder of the
Redemptorists, says in Moral Theology III:28 that if one
wishes to break a pact with
The Devil one doesn't have to feel bound to keep one's
word, even if signed in blood.
Rather, one must:
-
Renounce
and abjure any contract with The Evil One.
-
Destroy
all charms, talismans, writings, etc., connected with
the black art.
-
Burn
the written contract if you have it or just declare
you regret and reject it.
-
Make
restitution for any harm done, insofar as is possible.
