Cleo

Cleo Was the second cat I adopted.

I came home from school one day during the 8th or 9th grade, and mom had this very cute and different looking kitty in her hands. I picked up the cat, and immediately my ears were greeted by a very loud and content purr.

I instantly fell in love.

Our next door neighbor had brought her over, and according to mom, he had picked up the kitten off the side of the road, either afraid she would be hit, or because he nearly hit her. He had wanted to keep her but the family already had a female adult cat, and the two did not get along at all. He was faced with a predicament he would have to keep them separated. But his adult cat was old and arthritic so there was no way he would keep her outside, and it was used to going in and out as it pleased.

He ended up bringing her over to my house, and specifically asked if we wanted it. Mom took it in.

We at first kept tiger and Cleo separated, Cleo was kept in the bathroom that night while tiger ran around. At the time my dad got home late at night. He said as soon as he walked in the bathroom this cat was sitting on the clothes washer and purring really loud. That got him, It was up to him whether I could keep her or not, and with her purring she won her way into our family and our hearts.

We made an appointment with the vet and had her completely checked out and got her shots. The vet was unable to determine her age, however she had her permanent teeth.

During the first year or two she stayed on our good side, but after she settled in completely she became one heck of a nuisance. She not only got into everything, and climbed on everything, but she also made sure to get her way.

She loves to get attention, She still purrs extremely loud as a way of begging for attention or if she is getting attention she likes. I've gotten her to tolerate being cuddled and even held like a baby. Usually when she lays on me, or when I hold her she stretches her front legs out and puts her paws on my neck or chin.

The only bad thing about Cleo is her attitude problem, Not only is she aggressive towards Tiger, but she also has a habit of slapping me and my dad when she doesn't want to be bothered, or when she is playful. We have tried to teach her not to use her claws but nothing has worked.
