Drouillard Family



Simon Argencourt dit Drouillard was born in France, the son of Jean Drouillard and Jeanne Chevrau. He signed a contract of marriage on November 16 1698 with the notary Guillaume Roger and married on November 25, 1698 to Marguerite Ferre. Marguerite was the daughter of Pierre & Marie Lasnon. Pierre was a sailor and Marie Lasnon was a Fille du Roi. Simon and Marguerite lived in the Montreal area where they had 7 children. Marguretie died on September 12, 1711 leaving a young family, the youngest being a 7 month old baby. On November 24, 1712 Simon married Anne Cadoret and they had 11 children. Simon died in Detroit on October 21, 1733.

Jean Baptiste Drouillard was born February 14, 1707 at St-Francois-de-Sales, Ile-Jesus, Quebec and baptised the same day. He married Elisabeth Rapin daughter of Jean Baptiste & Marie Catherine Janson dit Lapalme born on June 6, 1712 in Quebec. The marriage took place on February 5, 1731 in Lachine, Quebec. Jean Baptiste and Elisabeth started their family in Quebec but moved to Detroit at some point after 1746.

Simon Amable Drouillard was born March 4, 1734, Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Montreal. He married Marguerite Martin dit St. Jean daughter of Jean and Theresa Henault dit Canada. Margureite was born about 1739 and they married on August 29, 1757, Soulanges, Quebec. The couple began their family in Quebec but moved to the South Coast of Detroit (Sandwich) after 1758 where they raised 12 children. Two of their sons would descend to my immediate family, one to the Larsh family and one to the DeLisle family. I will only take you to the families of the two brothers as far as they connect to the Larsh family and the DeLisle families. The Larsh and DeLisle families can be found on the main page of Family Trees.

Simon Drouillard was born on February 27, 1762, South Coast of Detroit and married Marie Archange Laforest (this name eventually becomes Laforet) on August 19, 1782 at Assumption Church, Sandwich. They had 6 children. Simon is the first brother that is my ancestor from this family. Their daughter, Marguerite Drouillard, married Jacques Larcheveque (this name eventually becomes Larsh) on October 15, 1805 at Assumption Church, Sandwich. Marguerite & Jacques's son, Joseph married Sophie Brosseau. Joseph & Sophie's son, Olivier married Josephine Roy. Olivier & Josephine's son, Laurence is the father of Florence Beatrice Larsh.

Louis Drouillard was born on August 12, 1768 in Assumption, Sandwich and is the brother of Simon above. He married Catherine Meloche on January 9, 1792 at Assumption Church, Sandwich and they had 11 children. Their son Basil Louis born on November 13, 1796, Assumption married Angelique Jubenville on May 14, 1819, Assumption Church, Sandwich and had 9 children. Basil & Angelique's daughter, Angelique born on March 1, 1828, married Hubert Deriger Plante on May 5, 1851, St. Jean Baptiste, Amherstburg. Angelique & Hubert's daughter Marie Angele married Richard Louis DeLisle on April 23, 1872, St. Jean Baptiste, Amherstburg.
