A summary of the main Biblical prophecies

Events of "End-Time" Bible prophecy arranged in chronological order.

(All Bible references used here are listed at the bottom of this page.)

1. The last days is the time period from Christ to the present *1.

2. The last 7 years according to the Bible, is the final seven years which occur just before the Second Coming of Christ.

It's mentioned in several places in the Old and the New Testament and is one of the most specific and fascinating "time" prophecies in the entire Bible. (see The Last 7 Years)*2..

The countdown for this 7 year period begins with a "covenant". No one knows (yet) which covenant, but it seems to be a peace pact which involves the Middle-East, most likely between the Arabs and Israel.

(Daniel 9:27: "And he shall confirm the covenant...for one week..." *3.

The 7 years is divided into two equal parts of 3 1/2 years each. The first mention of it is by Michael the Arch-Angel to the prophet Daniel (Daniel 12:6, 11). It is again mentioned a second time by Jesus Christ to his disciples (Matthew 24:15, 21) and then last of all, by a prophecy given to Jesus' disciple, John, who wrote it down in what is called the Book of Revelation or Apocolypse. (see Revelation 13:5)

3. The Second Coming of Christ: Matthew 24:30, 31 "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven. And then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, for they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather together His elect...".*4

4.Armageddon:(Rev. 19:19) "And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army." This is to take place in the Valley of Megiddo in Israel.*5

5. The Millenium: A 1000 year period of genuine peace on earth.

You've probably heard the saying, "a little child shall lead them." This is taken from one of the prophecies regarding the Millenium in which all nations shall be "ruled with a rod of iron"*6. Meaning that there will be very strict control to prevent the bad guys from messing things up anymore.

Just for clarification, none of this will make Bible prophecy easy to understand, but hopefully it will make some things somewhat comprehensible.

Some of the prophecies are understandable up to a certain point. In many cases when symbolism is used, the Bible includes the interpretation to the symbols inside the same chapter where they are found. I must repeat that you have to be very careful not to get carried away on some personal "revelation".

Bible references for all of the numbers above:

*1. Isaiah 2:2, Acts 2:17, 2 Tim.3:1, 2 Peter 3:3

*2. Daniel 12:11 (divided into two parts: Revelation 12:6, 13:5)

*3. This is seven 7's of years (Daniel 9:27,Genesis 29:27, etc.) The word "seven" comes from the ancient Hebrew word "shabua" meaning "a week of years". Seven 7's.
