  A brief Introduction

Many people believe that Bible prophecy is about the end of the world. The truth is:

First: It is not the "end" in the sense of total destruction or annihilation of our planet, but the end of the present world system. And....

Second: Bible prophecy indicates that after the fulfillment of the prophecies about the "end", there will be the beginning of a new and better world. *1

Hundreds of verses tell of a wonderful "Golden Age" or "Millenial Kingdom", that will be established after the coming hell on earth.

Something important to remember is that when you study Bible prophecy, never think you've got it all figured out.

A lot of people (out of ignorance or spiritual pride)twist the meanings of the prophecies in order to make themselves out to be someone greater than they really are. Watch out for this, especially in yourself.

Understanding Bible prophecy has been compared to observing a distant mountain range.

From a distance the range looks like one long mountain, but as you get closer you can distinguish between the different ranges. You can tell which mountains are in front, which are in back and so on.

This explains why Bible scripture events sometimes appear to blend together or seem mixed up. That's the way the prophets (living way back in the past) often saw them. But, like that mountain range, as we get closer to the fulfillment of a specific prophecy, the picture gets clearer. Some prophecies will only be understood as they are happening.

One Example

The prophet Daniel did not understand the visions he was getting from the archangel Michael (Daniel 12:8-9) and, like any of us would, he wanted to know what he was seeing.

Daniel 12:8-9 I heard what the angel said, but I did not understand. So I asked, "Sir, how will it all end?" The angel then replied: "Daniel, continue with your business, because the meaning of this message will remain secret and sealed up until the end of time."

Michael replied, "...the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end." Daniel died never knowing what it meant.

So what does that mean for us in this day and age?

The angel said that the visions were "sealed (locked) until the time of the end". Interestingly, many of these prophecies are now open to us. A sign that we are closer to those "mountains".

WATCH OUT

A word of caution: The Bible is a supernatural book. God's book. Many people interpret these prophecies without asking God what it means. That's why I made this site without any "preaching" and only a minimum of explanation. However, there are "keys" to interpretation. Many of the interpretations in the Book of Daniel and Revelation are directly in the text itself.

Please keep in mind that this site deals only with the basics. This is the bare minimum that you have to have to get a clearer idea of these mysterious prophecies.

Pray over it, study it and check everything out for yourself in the Bible. Don't take any human's interpretation (including mine) unless you have checked it thoroughly and are sure in your heart that God is showing you what is true.

Note:

According to Bible prophecy, there are some rough events coming in the future. One prophecy states that "...except those days should be shortened (or limited), there should no flesh be saved." (Matthew 24:22) The meaning is pretty clear. The Bible calls it, "distress of nations."
