4 Ways to Play Quidditch



Chat Room:
We all go to a chat room(probably the one in the club) and the Quaffle is released(Ref signals it). The first Chaser to call it by shouting MINE! in the chat room gets it. Then the Beaters have a chance to knock the Chaser off his/her broom. The opposing Beaters must shout BLUDGER before the Beaters on the Chaser's team shout SAFE. You can shout that as soon as the Ref signals which Chaser has the Ball. Please remember to shout those in all capitols, so it is easier for the Ref to pick it out. If the Chaser is safe, then s/he must yell SHOT. If the Keeper of the opposing team does not yell SAVE before the same Chaser yells SCORE, then 10 points are awarded to the Chaser's team. If the Keeper saves the ball, he must yell THROWS THE BALL TO (Chaser on his team) and that Chaser must yell CATCH before another Chaser yells INTERCEPTION. Then the Beaters may try again. Also, at any point during the game, the Beaters may take out the Keeper by shouting TAKE OUT THE KEEPER. Opposing Beaters must shout BLOCKAGE before the same Beater yells HIT. Also, I forgot to mention, that if the Chaser gets hit, s/he must give up the ball, and the next Chaser to yell MINE! gets the Quaffle. As for the Golden Snitch, some time during the game, the Ref will yell SNITCH, and the Seekers must yell QUIDDITCH. There will be a trivia question. The first Seeker that yells QUIDDITCH answers first, and if s/he is right, Their team gets the Snitch. If s/he is wrong, the other Seeker gets a chance to answer it. If s/he is right, s/he gets the Snitch. If both Seekers are wrong, then the game keeps going. Other game play does not stop when the Snitch is sighted.


Message Board:
On a message board, the Ref at any time or any place can post a message titled QUIDDITCH. In that message, there will be a trivia question about Quidditch. Any play may answer the question in a reply, and points will be awarded as to how hard the question was. Every week ro so the Ref will post the points for each team. At the end of a period of time deicded by all players, the team with the most points wins! Also, there will be separate boards for the different leagues, please only post in your league.


Muggle:
Muggle Quidditch is a mix of Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, Basketball and Soccer. The usual size of a field is the size of a Basketball Court, but you could play in a bigger or smaller field if you like. On either side of the field there is a Golden Snitch(any small, yellow ball may do) hidden. The Seeker of each team must go to the other side, find it, and bring it back to their side without being hit with a Bludger. Beaters stay only on their side and have two softball-sized Nerf Balls(one per Beater). They can hit any opposing player that strays to their size, but they can't hit any on the other side. If a Chaser is hit and does not have the ball, they must go back to their side. If a Chaser is hit and they do have the ball, they must give the ball to another Chaser on that side. If a Chaser, that has the ball is hit and the only Chaser over there, s/he must go back to the other side and give the Quaffle to an opposing Chaser. Chasers can kick the ball like Soccer, or pass the ball like Basketball. Chasers cannot pick the ball up and run with it. There are three hoops on either side. The top one is just a regular Basketball Hoop, about nine feet in the air(High School Basketball Regulation size), and the ball must the thrown in that hoop to score. The middle one is to the right a little bit, a little smaller and about seven feet into the air. Balls can be kicked or thrown into that hoop. The lowest hoop is like a miniature Soccer goal, about two feet high and two feet wide. The balls must be kicked into that "hoop". The Keeper must defend all three hoops. The scoring is the same as in real Quidditch.


Real:
Awe C'mon everybody knows how to play real Quidditch.


Notice: As soon as some teams are filled up, we will vote on how we will play. Many appologies, but Muggle and Real is not an option. Unless maybe your next door neighbor is in the league too. Sorry.
