Bards
Bards are the musicians of Destiny (upon registration, they must choose a musical instrument, from the options provided, which they will master). In addition to beingmusicians, Bards may also choose to be poets, artists and storytellers. Although they spend much of their time at the inn, Bards can be an asset to anyquest and some choose to quest for all of their experience rather than entertain.
To help them on their adventures they may choose one 1d6 or lower, non-bladed, non-magical weapon. Experience is given for not only quests and duels butalso for providing entertainment for the various travelers of Destiny. Entertainment includes any art, stories and poetry published in the Destiny Paper, singing in the inn, spreading tales of the Gods and Goddesses, or telling stories of battles and adventures (just to name a few). Bards can be of any race(except for half-ogre and orc, dark sylven and dark dwarf), but they must be of evenhearted ethic. The following list contains the songs that are acquired.
Bard SongsEach song may only be played twice per level per day. All harmful bard songs are evadeable by a wisdom check minus the bard's level.
Defensive Songs
- Song of Turtle: This song gives the bard the ability to form a hard and very thick shell over their body, able to pull their arms and limbs inside it for protection. This shell will stop all physical damage for d3 rounds.
- Song of Healing: This song heals 1d3+1 hp for every level attained by the bard. example: 1d3+4 for a level 4 bard. Healing is done to one character of the Bard's choice.
- Song of Strength: This song increases the strength of one target by 5 for one full quest or melee/spar.
- Song of Shielding: When sung a shield of pure energy will surround all group members, soaking 2 damage (increasing +1 hp soaked every odd level over 5) from anyone who is hit for d6 rounds
- Lullabye: This song can put any level two or weaker opponent to sleep for one round at level one. The level of the opponent that one can put to sleep raises two each level.
- Lady Kaylorian's Love Ballad: This song can make any NPC fall in love with the singer for one round per level. Once in love, the NPC will do anything to help the singer. This song can be sung once each round but it must be sung to the same NPC. And at level four, the NPC feels so much love for the singer that they are willing to take damage for them. If the singer gets attacked the NPC will take half of the damage points.
Offensive Songs
- Cree's Death March: This song does 1d5+intelligence damage for each time it is played. After level six, it doubles to 1d10 damage. A bard with 20 intelligence with have 1d5+5 damage.
- Grylok's Battle Cry: This song inspires all party members to do double damage to any opponent for one rounds. With every additional odd level the singer of this song gains the ability to inspire double damage for an extra round (IE at level three, the Bard gains the ability to inspire double damage for two rounds, at level 5, three rounds and so on (This song can only be played twice a quest and doubles damage of spells also)).
- Song of Rock: This song, when played, can turn any same level or lower opponent into stone for two rounds.
- Xeon's Pandemonium: This song sends any opponent into confusion for one round. Confusion means that the opponent starts attacking itself. This raises to two rounds at level six.
- Song of Tragedy: When this song is played to monsters or NPCs that attack the group, 1 will fall under the will of the song and attack its allies instead of the bard's party. This works for one round per level of the bard, example, d4 rounds for a level 4 bard.
