List of Professions:

Assassins are a secretive and resourceful people, using whatever means that they can to get the job done. They may be the woman who is using her womanly wiles to get herself closer to a mark, flirting and seducing, or it may be that very quiet man who seems to keep inching his way closer to you each time you take a look at him, then again, it may even be the one who you think is a friend. They can be anywhere and anyone. They are bounty hunters, killers. To some people, they are the means to an end, using their combination of abilities to seek their targets and wipe it out of existence.

Cold, remorseless and calculating, business is business to these dark murderers and a life is nothing more then just another stack of gold in their pockets. They use their given strength, speed and agility to cut down a foe in hand to hand combat if needed, and they have been known to concoct a poison or two in their days, slipping the vile powder or liquid into a person's food or drink.

Assassins often travel light, carrying what they feel will be neccessary. An Assassin usually carries a light weapon that can be used and concealed with ease, and usually a projectile weapon as well for the mark who takes the chance of trying to flee.

Martial Skill & Abilities
  • Assassins gain +2% to attacks and evades at each even level.

  • Dual Weapon Attack - Training to be swift, well balanced and proficient, having that desire to be the best at what they do, assassins have the ability to use two weapons when in combat. They don't have to use this skill as they can attack using a single weapon but will do so in order to get the job done quickly if need be. This can only be used with the hand claws and sword or knife like weapons and if one weapon is a d10 or a d8, the other weapon can't be stronger then a d6 weapon. For example, a katana(d10) and a rapier(d8) can't be wielded at the same time. However, two daggers can be wielded, two short swords can be wielded, etc. This only works with weapons and not with a combination of punch/kick and weapons like the ninja.

    • Levels 1 - 4, they can't dual wield with any combination of weapons higher than d6 in one hand and d4 in the other. Any combination lower is acceptable as long as both weapons combined don't equal more then d10.
    • Levels 5 - 8, they can dual wield with a d8 and d4 weapon combination, any combination lower is acceptable as long as both weapons combined don't equal more then d12.
    • Levels 9+, they can dual wield with a d10 and d4 weapon combination and any combination lower is acceptable as long as both weapons don't equal more then d14.

    Rogue Skill & Abilities

  • Assassins have these abilities at a 25% chance of success starting at level 1; gaining +5% at every level:

    • Find/Disarm Trap - When using this skill, an assassin pays close attention to their surroundings, searching for anything which looks suspicious. If looking to Find a Trap (high wis bonus adds to %) if trying to Disarm a Trap (high intel bonus adds to %).

    • Open Locks - Assassins use this skill to pick locks so they can gain entry into a place. (High Dex bonus applies to %).

    • Infiltrate - This skill is used when an assassin tries to gain entrance into a place, whether it be to gather information or to complete a job, searching out the best way to get inside possible, be it hidden passages, trap doors, etc. (High Wis bonus adds to %)

    • Disguise - Sometimes, an assassin must go incognito. With more use and practice, they learn to master this skill. (High Cha bonus applies to %)

    • Ascend/Climb Walls - Although anyone can climb rocky walls and steep slopes, due to the rogues agility, they normally possess a better climbing chance then some other classes, sometimes, they are even able to scale smooth walls and surfaces with little climbing gear. However, they must not be wearing any suits or armor when doing so and they are unable fight or defend themselves. (High Dex bonus applies to %)

    • Tightrope Walking - Using this skill along with concentration, an assassin is able balance themselves and walk across things such as a rope, narrow ledges, etc. They can't be wearing any armor when doing this. (High dex bonus adds to %).

    • Set Traps - Same as find/remove, except you will build a trap to injure or catch someone. (High Intel adds to %)

  • Alert Sense - A damn good assassin always makes sure to pay attention to their surroundings, even paying attention to the smallest of details to make sure that they are not caught off their guard. Trained in the art of ambush, honing their skill and senses, listening intently, they are able to hear almost the faintest of sounds, they use this to sense for danger, making sure they do not fall victim to things like surprise attacks, back stabs, etc. They must stand still and concentrate. (High Wis bonus adds to %)

  • Blind Fighting - Making their living by thriving in the shadows and darkness, assassins have the ability to fight without having to see their opponent. Using their senses, their finely tuned fighting instincts come into play and they receive no penalties when fighting in things like darkness, smoke, etc. (High Wis bonus adds to %) However, this only works using melee attacks, not ranged weapons.

  • Stealth (Hide in Shadows/Move Silently) - Assassins enter a stealth mode, effectively becoming invisible for a time, unnoticed. Stealth is affected by shadows, if there are no shadows present then stealth mode can not be done. Once the assassin has made an attack, stealth is ended. (High Dex bonus adds to %)

    • Backstab/Sneak Attack - Assassins are known for attacking an unsuspecting victim swiftly. This is a technique that is mastered. (This must be stated in the attack and if successful, it deals out normal damage with no soak, there is no evade as the target did not expect such an assault. (High Dex adds to %) The assassin must be behind the target and using stealth to do this.)

      • Lvl's 1 - 2, they gain a +1 to dmg when using backstab/sneak attack.

      • Lvl's 3 - 5, they gain a +2 to dmg when using backstab/sneak attack.

      • Lvl's 6 - 8, they gain a +3 to dmg. This pattern continues but doesn't go over +5 dmg.

  • Poison Skill & Abilities

  • The assassin is efficient at employing poisons.

  • Poison food/drink - To poison any bit of food or drink, anywhere, when successful, the target or anyone else, wont even notice. (20% chance of success; +5% every odd level, High Dex adds to %)

  • At level 1, the assassin can create poisons of their own. They must do their own research. This must be rp'ed out, for ex: an assassin on an adventure can search for herbs and other ingredients for their poison and they must let the host know (whisper) what they're doing so it can be noted and updated on the assassins page. Once they have found the ingredients, only then can they make poisons...(the poisons can't be outrageous and must be approved). At lvl 1, they have a 20% chance of successfully making the poison, and a High Intel adds to %. This skill rises a +5% at each odd level. A host must be present when they are making the poison.
