My Stars
*~*You know who you are....My Stars...*~*

*To My Star*
~Even though,
I know she’s gone.
I can see her still before the dawn.
She is my star,
The brightest in the night sky.
That light is from so far,
But I know she’s here by my side.
My special angel
Sent from God
To always watch over
Even as I sob
To watch the tears stream down my face
Trying hard to hold back, I stand beside her grave
Breaking down inside,
But not a hint of it on my face.
Being strong for my family’s sake
Holding them close and drying their tears,
It’s all I can do, to calm their nerves and my fears.
Shouting inside,
“ Why? Why did you leave me?
You didn’t have to die!
Why did you take her?!
She was already a star! “
But I wait and listen,
And hear no reply.
I hear only the priest,
And others’ tears falling.
His words give no comfort,
That tired old speech.
“ God has chosen her for a special reason.
There is a special task,
A purpose only she can fulfill…”
As I sit and listen, comforting those close,
I realize it’s a lie.
“ There is no purpose! “ I say inside.
“ No reason, no task! So why do you lie?!
You, ‘Father’ have no answer. So I’ll ask ‘Him’….then Why? “
Again no answer, but hearing someone else begin to cry.
I look to see who, but find no one new.
It’s not him or her, or that man there.
But I look up and meet my teary-eyed brother’s stare.
Thinking “ Is it you, who needs comfort and care? “
He puts his arm around me,
And to the casket he averts his stare.
I sit there wondering, but I touch my cheek
And realize…tears are there
Two had fallen and a third soon joined,
But I felt nothing.
Nothing inside and only a chilling breeze on my face
It dried number three, so four took its place.
That comforting arm left me,
To comfort himself and another.
But as it did, that fifth and final tear started to slide.
As it did, my heart sank
Down to my feet and into the ground
Down past six feet, to Hell it was bound.
I wanted to die and almost sank to the ground.
But suddenly in my chest,
Was a familiar “ beating “ sound.
Has “ He “ saved my heart?
Or was it my star?
It had to have been her,
So maybe she wasn’t that far.
Sometimes I’ll think as I stare at the night sky.
That bright one sparkling
Seems to attract my eye.
At that one star, I stare for hours on end.
Not realizing tears because I know she’s there.
As the stars fade away
And the first ray hits my eyes,
My watch over her ends.
But I know hers will never die.
Your body has left me,
But your love never will.
So goodnight my special Star.
Until the next night,
I will wait for you still.~
