Housing - You will need a large aquarium (minimum size of 60cm x 30cm x 30cm) with a lid, gravel, filter, plants, ornaments.

Adding the fish - The fish will be in a plastic bag of water. Put the whole bag into the aquarium, leave it for 10 minutes so that the fish can acclimatise to the new temperature, then open the bag and let him out.

Feeding - Either dry fish flakes/sticks or live food. Feed about once a day or once a week with live food.

Facts - Average life-span is 6-10 years (sometimes longer).
