Hallie held her mouth with her hand so the water that was in her mouth wouldn’t spill out. She was laughing at how Monique was telling her a story.
Monique stopped laughing for a second and continued. “So I was like oh…and you aren’t? I mean if a complete stranger comes up to you and say you’re fat. Wouldn’t you say something? I personally didn’t care either. I know I’m not fat. It was like Jesus, could you be any more ruder?”
“She told you that? That you were fat?”
“Yeah, I mean I didn’t even know her.”
Hallie continued to laugh. “You are like the skinniest person I know.”
Monique shrugged. “So what about your career. You’re working with 5 hot guys. Anybody in mind?”
Hallie blushed. “No. They are my bosses. How would you like to date your boss?”
“Hey, if he was hot like them 5 guys are…I’ll be doing more than just dating him.” Monique smiled evilly.
Hallie’s mouth dropped. “You are so bad.”
Monique shrugged. “I know…isn’t it great?” They laughed again.
“What about you. Do you have anybody in mind?” Hallie asked lying on her stomach on the twin-sized bed in her Orlando home.
“That Lance looked pretty sweet.”
“No. I mean at home.”
“Yeah, right, they know how I am. I think their parents thought I was the devil or something.” Monique took a drink of her lemonade.
“I wonder why.”
Monique smiled innocently. “I have no clue.”
The phone rang on the nightstand. Hallie had to reach over Monique to answer it. “Hello.”
“Hey this Lance. The other guys and I are going to a movie. We were wondering if you would like to join us.”
“You’re not trying to suck up to me so I could give a little break for you tomorrow are you?” Hallie asked.
“Is it working?”
“Not a bit.”
“Damn, no I’m kidding. We don’t have anybody else to hang out with.”
“Oh, so you’re just asking me to go with you guys because you don’t have anybody else?” Hallie accused.
“Well…no.”
“I’m just shitting you. Yeah, I would like to join you.”
“Ok, great. Bring your sister too. What is her name again?”
“Monique.” She told him smiling.
“Right. See you later. We’ll be in the Cinema in an hour. Bye.”
“Bye Lance.” She hung up. “Lets go get dressed for the movies.” Hallie told Monique.
“Oh, yet.” Monique smiled evilly.
“Don’t even plan anything. I know what you did the last time you went to the movies. Don’t do it here. I’m telling you.”
Monique raised her eyebrows at her sister. “Being a little motherly are you?”
“I have to be with you.” Hallie got up off the bed and went to her drawers. “Seriously, don’t do anything really out of whack. They are my bosses.”
“I won’t. I’ll just tell them of your first date.”
Hallie stopped looking through her closet and turned around. “Come on, don’t do that, please. That is so embarrassing.”
“I know.” Monique moved her eyebrows up and down.
“Don’t, please. You can do anything just don’t tell them about that.” Hallie smiled evilly. “Or I’ll tell them your first job.”
“I don’t care go ahead.” Monique shrugged.
“You suck.”
Monique made a sucking noise with her mouth. “I know.”
“You are so crazy.”
Monique twirled her hair around her finger lazily. This is going to be a good night, she thought. Very interesting.
