*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
“Damn alarm clock,” I mumbled as my arm found its way through the sea of black satin covers to my digital clock radio and pulled it off the nightstand. It landed with a smash on the floor. My head popped up from under the covers.
“Its Saturday, I didn’t set my alarm.”Knowing I wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep I climbed out of my warm queen sized waterbed, I so dearly cherished, and after a couple of stumbles and trips I finally made it downstairs. My red satin 2 peice nightgown stuck to me.
“Surprise!” yelled somebody from the living room doorway. I looked over not amused and was a brown haired young gut of 23, arms outstretched and a huge smile on his face.
“Hi, Josh,” making my way past him heading to the kitchen for my early breakfast. The guys’ arms fell to his side as his mouth hit the floor.
I was pouring a glass of milk when I really relized who he was. After putting the milk back I ran through the kitchen and wrapped my arms around his neck, so happy.
“Oh my gosh, J.C. when did you get here?”
“This morning, Sydel?”
“Yeah?”
“You’re choking me.”
I let go of him and looked at him, “Sorry.”
He rubbed the back of his neck, “Its ok.”
“Its been, all my god, 5 years since I last saw you. Why are you here now?” I asked him.
“What? Am I not allowed to see my favorite cousin on her 20th birthday?”
“I’m just so happy to see you,” I again wrapped my arms around him. I pulled him back and gave him a playful punch on the arm.
“Ow, what was that for?”
“You woke me from my beauty sleep.”
“You might have been sleeping but you’re no beauty,” he told me jokingly. I gave him a glare. “What you want me to leave?”
“That wouldn’t do help, once I’m up I can’t get back to sleep, unlike you.”
“I can’t help it I have a gift,” he said putting his hand on his heart.
“Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Come on, I need some food before I starve.”
