25th November 2000 - Heatwave Festival
The closing act at Gosford's HEATWAVE 2000 rock concert on 25th November, were multiple ARIA Award winners, KILLING HEIDI. They came in early to check the site out, and so we got this wonderful info from them. Ingrid interviewed Jesse for the May 2000 issue of STAGECRAFT ( I was off singing in Taiwan) so it was great to meet them in the flesh. We spoke to Jesse and also got great shots with Warren Jenkin (bass guitarist). Absolutely fabulous guys!
Jesse was wearing a KISS design T-shirt and Warren had the SPICE GIRLS on his!

Ingrid (my sister) and Cindy James( Kincumber High School) made up the rest of our Media crew for STAGECRAFT. So as not to lose any of the interview, we did it on video. The guys were in a rush, so this is short!

T: Hi, we'd like some information!

Jesse: Hello - this is Jesse from Killing Heidi! Hello everyone in camera world!

T: Do you wear boxers or briefs?

Jesse: Ahh..that's a very personal question!

T: It's our regular. 'BREAK EVEN' said they wore neither.

Jesse: (laughing) OK then, it depends on what mood I'm in, see I've actually gone up in the world of underwear now. I think that's one of the best things about being in a successful band - the options that open up to you on whether you wanna wear pants or boxer shorts!

T: Do you buy them yourself or is it still your mum's job?

Jesse: I buy them - I haven't found the ' underpants endorsement' yet, but am hoping to find one very soon.

Cindy: who is your favourite SPICE GIRL, and why?

Jesse: Ah well, Ginger Spice WAS my favourite SPICE.

I: 'Cause of the hair resemblance? (pointing to his head)

Jesse: Yeah, yeah, yeah … and then she left and I actually wrote wrote my year 12 English piece on why I should be Gingers' replacement! I got a B+ so it must've been OK. (all smiling)

Cindy: Warren, which is your favourite SPICE GIRL?

Warren: Different SPICE GIRL for different days! (sporting his own SPICE T-shirt!)

KILLING HEIDI increased the crowd attendance for their gig to 4000 plus , so check out Peter Hamilton's photos of their set.
