AN intimate concert with Australian rock band Killing Heidi was a fitting prize for 20 winners of the Triple M and Regional Express Club Veg Party Competition on Saturday.
The 20 lucky winners were flown to Albury from Sydney on Saturday morning care of Regional Express.
Once in Albury they were treated to a whirlwind tour of the Border, including a visit to the Ettamogah Pub and the trout farm, before settling down to a relaxing afternoon at The Lounge Cafe Bar enjoying the sounds of Killing Heidi.
Many of the prize winners had no idea where they were headed or what was awaiting them at the other end.
Mr Aidan Devenish said he had only discovered he was flying to Albury on the day of departure, but it had been a great place to visit.
“We flew down in the morning and visited some tourist locations before having our own concert with Killing Heidi.
“I cant believe that it really happened.”
The proprietor of The Lounge, Mrs Poppy Langlands, said having the opportunity to host the private concert was fantastic.
“We had to keep The Lounge as a secret location, as the organisers did not want the whole of the Border to know the concert was happening,” she said.
Killing Heidi's Jesse Hooper said the band enjoyed their visit to the Border to entertain the competition winners.
“We have been here a number of times and we always have a great time,” he said.
