Now I'm about to get into two very highly debatable subjects here, so if your easily offended, please read on. I have a friend who got pregnant. She's only 18 years old and at the time hadn't even gotten into college at the time. The father? A low-life drug user, who is nothing for a parental figure, who is hostile and has even cheated on her before. He doesn't even live by himself. He lives with his parent's and he's like 20. Well since she got pregnant and she doesn't believe in abortion, she decided to let the baby grow up with two parents rather than just herself, so that there would be a father figure(way to go[sarcastic]). So they got engaged. Now, I don't believe in abortion, but I think if you get into a situation like this, it's ok. I think it's much better to let a child be aborted rather than have him grow up the bastard child of a pot-head. I told her early on that she should get one because it would ruin the baby's life and would ruin her chances of ever having a good future. She disagreed, saying that she is still gonna go to college and if she tries hard she can still make it in life. It's all good that she thinks that. It shows that she has alot of heart. But the fact of the matter is, that those thoughts were put in her head by the women's rights crusaders that say a woman can accomplish anything. It doesn't matter what these women preach, the social dogma strictly prohibits everything she has planned. The only way she'll ever get to go to college while raising a baby and working to feed mouths is a community college, night school, or home study. It's well known that your status, your history, and you SCHOOL have more to do with getting a job than anything, and a community college won't cut it. So she refused abortion. Then the big revelation: she's cheated on him too. So chances are that the child isn't even his. Once again, another mistake which can seriously harm somebody's social stature. I tried pleading with her not to have this child, because she was gonna end up one of those mothers who raises their children in the ghetto and let's them drink and curse. Now, like I said, this deals somewhat with abortion. My personal stance: I believe that abortion is ridiculous for the most part. Most people have an abortion because they feel they just don't want a kid, or they don't think they are ready yet. Now of course, if it's reasonable I can understand though. Like rape, terminal illnesses like aids, or teen pregnancy. I don't believe anybody should be born into the world a bastard or part of the doom generation. I just think that every person should do everything to their best knowledge to become successful and have a clean, well-off, and happy family. Of course, it's too late for my friend now. She's already more than five months along, which is the legal limit for abortion, and she'll be married soon. But it's not too late for me to send my message to everybody else. Of course, blah....
