The NRA, although I am a devout member, can be very silly sometimes. They argue some of the most ridiculous things. I believe that all gun laws should remain the way they always have been, but here they are insulting security measures that have been taken by retailers recently, due to the tragic events that have happened in the weeks past. I believe it was k-mart that removed all ammunitions following the attacks, and several other retailers had their sporting goods section completely emptied of any firearms and ammunitions. They argued that President Bush said that "freedom will be defended" and so it is a violation of our freedom to buy munitions from a major retailer. Now maybe they are right. But I also think they are wrong. Sure it's a violation of that freedom. But I sure would feel a hell of a lot safer if guns stopped selling for a temporary time, just to insure my safety. They are just taking extra security measures to make sure everybody stays safe from the real bad guys. So what if somebody doesn't get to buy their kid their first shot gun for the hunting season? What matters most: your son's first kill, or your son becoming a statistic of homicide or terrorism? And it's not just that either. These people have a business. They are trying to make money, not just be there to claim the name of a store. If they don't lean towards the interest of the general public, by doing the politically correct thing by removing munitions from store shelves, they might just lose alot of customers. You don't make money by losing customers, you make money by making more customers by showing you care. And that's all it's really about anyways. If the NRA were a business, even though they argue differently now, they would see things alot differently. But is it the way they see things that makes them argue the way they do? I think not. It's the same thing as with the store shelves. The fact of the matter is that the majority of NRA members live for guns. They are devout members and many are militant. So the NRA has to pose as these militant people, who don't care what "the man" says, they should never have their rights taken away from them. And if they don't, they'll fight. It's like they think they got a militia or something. A coup so-to-speak, to overthrough their totalitarian government. But they also, like I said about retailers, have to gain new members. So they argue for the general public too. They say that guns are for protection and hunting, and the government should do their jobs by weeding out bad gun owners. And I agree with that. But that doesn't matter. Because in the end, it's all about money. Maybe if the NRA were a free association that didn't try to get donations out of people's wills and rather their hearts, maybe things would be different. But their not, and although I am a devout member, I gotta say they are pretty ridiculous. A'carse, that's jist mah opinion, ah cud be rowng.

I wanna know what kinda feedback you have for me. Tell me what you think.
