More Recent Rants
I recently had some trouble with my computer. It started running hot. Now this presents a problem, as anyone who knows about what makes a computer run can tell you. You see, both the fan on the chip and the fan in the power relay box went out...not to mention the fact that my cd drive wouldn't open for a while. Now since I was going to have the computer apart anyway, I went a head and took apart the cd drive. So for only having this computer for five years, three things have gone wrong with it. Now I found out what happened with the cd drive. The magnet that pulled the laser up to the disc somehow increased it's magnet power and was too strong to let the laser drop back to the bottom so I just stuck a piece of plastic in between the metal so it reduced the magnetic pull and it works now. Now, why the "expletive-deleted" can't they put a working fan in there to run for at least 10 years like the warranty says?? If you're going to put a warranty on it, then back that warranty. Like Chris Farley says in Tommy Boy, "If it's a guarantee you want, I'll go "expletive-deleted" in a box and slap a guarantee on it." and "I could get a real good look at a T-bone steak by sticking my head up a cow's arse, but I'd rather take his word for it." Now the fan in the power supply box is a big deal, but the fan on the chip is an even bigger deal!!! For all you non-experts out there, if the chip gets to hot and melts or distorts in any way, the whole computer is "expletive-deleted"!!! But then, I get to moving things and lookin' around on how to remove the fan and I have to dig through way too much stuff...extra wires going here and there, too many plugs going into nothing. And everything was a little tight for my liking. So why can't they put the parts that should be replaced in an easy-to-get-to spot??? Maybe it's just me, but if they guarantee something, it should last and if it's replaceable, it should be easily accessed. But that's just what is stored in my Randomly Accessed Memory...I might have a virus.
