Now I don't want to go off on a rant here, but I don't see what's so important about being popular. Most people strive to be number one on the popular scale, but I just say be yourself and what'll happen is gonna happen. Why do some people need to be the center of attention, does it hold some yearly revenue that they don't tell the regular kids about? I know that to many it means more girlfriends/boyfriends, more dates, better chance to be King/Queen of a dance or something, but what does it do for you in the long run? I can't see why people slave for an hour or more before school just to go and impress other people with the "top of the line fashions" that they get at big name retailers, when I get the same stuff at Wal-Mart or Target for 7-12 bucks. So what if I don't have a logo or a name to hide my clothes content and quality behind...maybe that's because I have quality "expletive-deleted" that will last longer than some Polo or Tommy Hilfinger "expletive-deleted" that will be worn more than 10 times in the coarse of a year because I can do that. As far my perspective goes, I think that clothes are good til they a) become too small that it won't even fit you as shorts or a half-shirt b) have so many holes that you'd put it on upside down if it didn't have a tag in it. And that's not as far as it goes. It's not that they have money, it's the fact that they flaunt it. People getting brand new cars for doing nothing when people like me, people that have personality, get the cars that have personality. All in all it's not such a bad deal, but talk about being shafted. How's their car suppose to grow and gain personality when the person driving and owning it doesn't have a single drop of personality in their capillaries?? The popular ones gloat about where they went and what they do, but they can't seem to hold a relative conversation. If they could be on topic and not so childish about things, then maybe they wouldn't be so stereotyped. I know that the preps aren't all like that. Some actually have personality and aren't complete "expletive-deleted". So to stereotype those massively over self-indulged "expletive-deleted" wouldn't be right, but why should I not stereotype them and give them a chance when they won't even give me the time of day? I think I know why...because maybe I have a light at the end of my tunnel and they are jealous of what I can do because all they can do is be obnoxious little snobs that drink 'cause it makes them look cool. But that's just my perspective, and I don't mean that much.
