Princess Margarita of Baden died in Farnham, Surrey, on 15 January.

 

[She was born at Schloß Salem on 14 July 1932, daughter of Margrave Berthold of Baden and of his wife, née Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark. From 1957 to 198w she was married to Prince Tomislav of Yugoslavia. She is survived her son and daughter, and two grandchildren.] (added 16 Jan 2013)

 

 

BAVARIA

 

Christian Dienst and his wife, née Princess Felipa of Bavaria (b.1981, daughter of Prince Leopold of Bavaria and his wife, née Ursula Möhlenkamp) are expecting their first child in April. (added 14 Jan 2013)

 

Princess Editha of Bavaria died on 4 May 2013.

 

[She was born at Schloß Hohenberg on 16 September 1924, daughter of Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria (1869-1955) and his second wife, Princess Antonia of Luxemburg. She married firstly, in 1946, Tito Tomasso Brunetti (1905-1954). She married secondly, in 1959, Gustav Christian Schimert (1910-1990). Prince Gabriel José of Orleans-Braganza (son of Prince Pedro de Alcantara of Orleans-Braganza and of his wife, née Maria de Fatima Lacerda Rocha) and his wife, née Luciana Guaspari, had their first child, Gabriel Pedro, at Rio de Janeiro on 12 April. (updated 13 Apr 2013)

 

 

DENMARK

 

Count Christian af Rosenborg, Prince Christian of Denmark, died at Gentofte on 21 May.

 

[He was born at Sorgenfri on 22 October 1942, son of Prince Knud of Denmark (1900-1976) and his wife, née Princess Caroline-Mathilde of Denmark (1912-1995). Since 1971 he had been married to Anne-Dorthe Maltoft-Nielsen, and is survived by her and their three daughters, and their families. At the time of his marriage he renounced his princely titles and was created Count af Rosenborg.] (added 22 May 2013)

 

Countess Dorrit af Rosenborg died on 14 May.

 

[She was born Annie Helene Dorrit Puggard-Müller at Copenhagen on 8 September 1926. From 1948 to 1977 she was married to Count Oluf af Rosenborg, Prince of Denmark (1923-1990). In 1978 she married Bent Lund. She is survived by her two children from her first marriage, and their families.] (added 22 May 2013)

Eric Querenet Onfroy de Breville and his wife, née Princess Caroline Napléon (daughter of Charles, Prince Napoléon, and of his first wife, née Princess Beatrice of Bourbon-Two Sicilies) are expecting their second child in 2013. (added 14 Jan 2013)

Antoine Stevenson and his wife, née Kildine Sambucy de Sorgue (daughter of François Sambucy de Sorgue and his wife, née Princess Jeanne-Chantal d'Orléans), had their fifth child, Anne, at Bordeaux on 1 April. (added 14 May 2013)

 

 

GREAT BRITAIN and Northern Ireland

 

Prince William of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Duke of Cambridge (son of Prince Charles of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Prince of Wales [himself the son of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Greece and Denmark], and of his late former wife, née Lady Diana Spencer) and his wife, née Catherine Middleton, are expecting their first child in 2013. Roman Goldschmidt (son of René Goldschmidt and Jana Swoboda) is engaged to marry Princess Anna von Hohenzollern (b.1983, daughter of Prince Godehard-Friedrich von Hohenzollern and his wife, née Heide Hansen) on 1 June at Burg Namedy. (added 15 Jan 2013)

Andrea Casiraghi (son of the late Stefano Casiraghi and of Princess Caroline of Monaco, Princess of Hannover) and Tatiana Santo Domingo had their first child, a son, on 21 March. (added 22 Mar 2013)

 

NETHERLANDS

Prince Floris of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven (son of Pieter van Vollenhoven and of his wife, Princess Margriet of the Netherlands) and his wife, née Aimée Söhngen, are expecting their third child in July. (added 11 Jan 2013)

 

 

PRUSSIA

 

Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia and his wife, née Princess Sophie von Isenburg, had their first children, twins, Carl Friedrich and Louis Ferdinand, at Bremen on 20 January. (updated 21 Jan 2013)

 

 

REUSS

 

Prince Heinrich XXVI Reuss (b.1988, son of Prince Heinrich IX Reuss and of his wife, Amelie Freiin Besserer von Thalfingen) has become engaged to marry Isabelle Anna Frampton. She is British, but the couple both currently study in Sydney, Australia, though they plan to live in Britain after the wedding, which is set to take place on 2 February in Britain. SAXONY

 

Daniel Prinz von Sachsen (grandson of the late Prince Timo of Saxony) and his wife Sandra had their first child, Anna-Catharina Sophie, at Radebeul on 13 January. (updated 16 Jan 2013)

 

 

SCHAUMBURG-LIPPE

 

Eva-Benita Fürstin zu Schaumburg-Lippe died on 8 May 2013.

 

[She was born Eva-Benita Freiin von Tiele-Winckler on 18 November 1927. In 1955 she married Philipp-Ernst Erbprinz zu Schaumburg-Lippe, who succeeded his father as Fürst in 1962. He died in 2003. She is survived by her son Alexander Fürst zu Schaumburg-Lippe and his family. Her elder son died in 1983, aged 27.] (added 10 May 2013)

 

 

SWEDEN

 

Princess Lilian of Sweden died at her home in Stockholm on 10 March. She was born Lilian Davies in Swansea on 30 August 1915. In 1976 she married Prince Bertil of Sweden, with whom she had long been in a relationship, but whom she could not until then marry for reasons of state. (added 10 Mar 2013)
