Archduke Franz Salvator of Austria died on 13 February.


[He was born at Schloß Wallsee on 10 September 1927, son of Archduke Theodor Salvator of Austria (1899-1978) and of Maria Theresa Gräfin von Waldburg zu Zeil u.Trauchburg (1901-1967). He married 1stly in 1962 Princess Anna Amelie von Schönburg-Waldenburg (1936-1966). He married secondly in 1980 Hedwig von Lichem-Löwenburg (1938-2000) and is survived by two daughters from the second marriage, and by four grandchildren.] (added 13 Feb 2012)


Archduke Imre of Austria (son of Archduke Carl Christian of Austria and of his wife, née Princess Marie Astrid of Luxemburg) married Kathleen Walker in Washington, D.C., on 8 September. (added 10 Sep 2012)


Archduke Christoph of Austria (b.1988, son of Archduke Carl Christian of Austria and of his wife, née Princess Marie Astrid of Luxemburg), married Adelaide Drapé-Frisch at Nancy on 28 December 2012, followed by a religious wedding on 29 December. (added 1 January 2013)





Christian Dienst married Princess Felipa of Bavaria (b.1977, daughter of Prince Leopold of Bavaria and his wife, née Ursula Möhlenkamp) on 12 May in the Wieskirche in Steingaden. (added 31 Aug 2012)


Michael Klemens Maria Graf von Kageneck died on 11 October.


[He was born at Detmold on 4 Dec 1941, son of Franz Joseph Graf von Kageneck (1915-1941) and of his wife, Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria (1913-2005). He was married firstly, from 1964 to 1970, to Christina Maria Bengels; secondly, from 1972 to 1976, to Beate Apeldorn; and thirdly, since 1977, to Lieselotte Buchenthal. Prince Joachim of Denmark (son of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and of her husband, Prince Henrik [born Henri de Laborde de Monpezat]) and his wife, née Marie Cavallier, had their second child together, his fourth child, Athena Marguerite Françoise Marie, at Copenhagen on 24 January. Emanuela de Dampierre died in Rome on 3 May.


[She was born in Rome on 8 November 1913, daughter of Roger de Dampierre, Duke of San Lorenzo, and of his wife, Donna Vittoria Ruspoli. From 1935 to 1947 she was married to Infant Don Jaime of Spain (1908-1975), who, as senior legitimate male member of the Bourbon family was considered by some to be Legitimist heir to the French throne. Their two sons predeceased her, and she is survived by two grandchildren, one of whom, Luis Alfonso de Borbón, is present Legitimist claimant to the French throne.] (added 3 May 2012)



Prince Jean d’Orléans, Duc de Vendôme (son of Prince Henri d’Orléans, Comte de Paris, and of his first wife, née Duchess Maria Theresa of Württemberg, later Duchesse de Montpensier) and his wife, Philomena de Tornos y Steinhart, had their second child, Antoinette Léopoldine Jeanne Marie, on 28 January. Prince Charles Philippe d’Orléans (son of Prince Michel d’Orléans, Comte d’Evreux, and of his wife, née Béatrice de Pasquier de Franclieu) and his wife, Diana Alvares Pereira de Melo, Duquesa de Cadaval (daughter of Jaime Alvares Pereira de Melo, Duque de Cadaval, and of his second wife, née Claudine Tritz) had their first child, Isabelle, at Lisbon on 22 February. GREAT BRITAIN and Northern Ireland


Peter Phillips (son of Mark Phillips and of his former wife, Anne, Princess Royal of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) and his wife, née Autumn Kelly (daughter of Brian Kelly and of Mrs Kitty Kelly, née McCarthy) had their second child, Isla Elizabeth, at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, on 29 March. Prince Karl Alexander von Hohenzollern (b.1970) has married again, this time on 22 February in Las Vegas to Corinna Lello da Costa, or Nehemie (b.Luanda 1990). He had previously been married twice, and engaged at least one other time. The couple was reportedly brought together by Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband Frederick, who has adopted the surname “Prinz von Anhalt”. (added 25 Feb 2012)





Count Pierfrancesco Calvi di Bergolo, 7th Conte di Bergolo, died in Rome on 18 June.


[He was born in 1933, son of Giorgio Carlo Calvi di Bergolo, 6th Conte di Bergolo and of Princess Jolanda of Savoy, herself daughter of Vittorio Emanuele III, King of Italy and of Elena, Princess of Montenegro. He married in 1958 the actress Marisa Allasio, from whom he was later divorced. He is survived by one son and one daughter.] (added 16 Jul 2012)


Prince Aimone of Savoy, Duca di Apulia (son of Prince Amedeo of Savoy, Duca di Aosta, and of first his wife, née Princess Claude d'Orléans) and his wife, née Princess Olga of Greece (daughter of Prince Michael of Greece and Denmark and of his wife, née Marina Karella) had their third child, Isabella, at Paris on 14 December. Prince Alexander of Liechtenstein died on 16 March.

Clemens Graf Hoyos (son of Martin Graf Hoyos and his wife, née Isabella Valerie Gräfin von Seefried auf Buttenheim) married Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein (daughter of Prince Eugen of Liechtenstein and his wife, née Maria Theresia Gräfin von Goëß) near Klagenfurt on 16 June. (added 31 Aug 2012)


Richard Turner married Princess Livia of Liechtenstein (daughter of Prince Franz of Liechtenstein and his late wife, née Laura Malvezzi Campeggi) on 23 June at Castel San Pietro Terme. (added 31 Aug 2012)





Sophie de Figueroa, née Princess zur Lippe, died in October. According to the notices in El Mercurio, a newspaper in Santiago, Chile, on 28 Oct 2012, the funeral was to be held at Neidling, Schloß Goldegg, Austria, on 31 October. She was born at Alt-Wartenburg on 29 June 1922, daughter of Alfred Rudolf Maria Egmont Pr zur Lippe (1881-1960) and his wife, Anna Gfn von Goëß (1895-1972). In 1950 she married Sergio de Figueroa Tagle and is survived by him and their family. (added 8 Nov 2012)





Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg (son of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and his wife Maria Teresa Mestre) married Comtesse Stéphanie de Lannoy (daughter of Comte Philippe de Lannoy and his wife Alix della Faille de Leverghem) at Luxembourg on 19 October, followed by a religious ceremony on 20 October. Hereditary Grand Duchess Karin of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, née von Schaper, died in Glücksburg on 26 January.


[She was born at Breslau on 31 January 1920. In 1941 she married Hereditary Grand Duke Friedrich Franz of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1910-2001). They divorced in 1967 but remarried in 1977. She will be buried at Glücksburg on 4 February.] (added 1 Feb 2012)

Princess Ragnhild of Norway died at Rio de Janeiro on 16 September. She was born at Oslo on 9 June 1930, daughter of King Olav and of his wife, née Princess Martha of Sweden, and had been married since 1953 to Erling Sven Lorentzen. She is survived by him and their family. (added 16 Sep 2012)





Duke Konstantin of Oldenburg (son of Duke Johann of Oldenburg and his wife, Ilka Gräfin zu Ortenburg) married Doña Esther Sanchez Calvo (daughter of Don Eusebio Sánchez Peña and Doña Josefa Calvo Gonzalez) in Madrid on 3 March. (added 23 Apr 2012)


Stephan Sanders married Duchess Rixa of Oldenburg (b.1970, daughter of Duke Friedrich August of Oldenburg and of his first wife, Princess Marie-Cecile of Prussia) at Hamburg-Nienstedten on 13 October. (added 29 Oct 2012)





Albert Brenninkmeijer and Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon-Parma, Marchesa di Sala (daughter of Prince Carlos Hugo of Bourbon-Parma and of his former wife, Princess Irene of the Netherlands) married at Wijk bij Duurstede on 21 April, and were married in a religious ceremony at Florence on 16 June. Prince Carlos of Bourbon-Parma, Duke of Parma and Piacenza (son of Prince Carlos Hugo of Bourbon-Parma, Duke of Parma and Princess Irene of the Netherlands), and his wife Annemarie Gualthérie van Weezel (daughter of Hans Gualthérie van Weezel and Ank de Visser), had their first child together, Luisa Irene Constance Anna Maria, at The Hague on 9 May. Prince Tristan of Bourbon-Parma (son of Prince Rémy of Bourbon-Parma [himself the son of Prince Louis of Bourbon-Parma and of Princess Maria of Savoy] and of his first wife, née Laurence Dufresne d’Arganchy) and his wife, née Shira Szabo, had their first child, Talma Laurence Sarah Eleonora Maria, at London on 21 November. Infanta Maria Adelaide of Portugal died on 24 February.

Prince Heinrich XXVI Reuss (b.1988, son of Prince Heinrich IX Reuss and of his wife, Amelie Freiin Besserer von Thalfingen) has become engaged to marry Isabelle Anna Frampton. She is British, but the couple both currently study in Sydney, Australia, though they plan to live in Britain after the wedding, which is set to take place in Chichester in February, 2013. Princess Benigna Reuss and her husband, Oscar de Ascoz y Planes, had their first child, Jaime José de Calasanz María de las Victorias Heinrich Eric Samuel Manuel Iñigo María del Pilar del Santísimo Sacramento y Todos los Santos, at Madrid on 1 June. (added 2 Jun 2012)


Heinrich IV Fürst Reuss died on 20 June.

Count Carl Johan Bernadotte af Wisborg, Prince Carl Johan of Sweden, died on 5 May.


[He was born at Stockholm on 31 October 1916, son of King Gustav VI of Sweden and his first wife, Princess Margaret of Great Britain and Ireland. He renounced his titles and in 1951 was created Count af Wisborg. He was married firstly to Kerstin Wijkmark (1910-1987) and secondly to Countess Gunilla Wachtmeister af Johannishus, who survives him. He had no children.] (added 6 May 2012)

Manuel de Morales y Borbón-Dos Sicilias (b.16 Dec 1971, son of Luis Morales y Aguado and of his wife, née Princess Ines of Bourbon-Two Sicilies [herself the daughter of Prnce Alfonso of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Infant of Spain, and of his wife, née Princess Alice of Bourbon-Parma]) and his wife, née Emma Ruiz de Azcarate y Garcia de Lomas, had their second child, Juan, in January.
