ARENBERG

 

Jean-Engelbert, the 12th Duke von Arenberg, died at Lausanne on 15 August.

 

[He was born at The Hague on 14 July 1921, son of Prince Evrard-Engelbert von Arenberg (1892-1969) and of Comtesse Anne-Louise de Merode (1894-1969). He succeeded a cousin as head of the family in 1992. He had married in 1955 Princess Sophie of Bavaria (daughter of Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria and of Princess Antonia of Luxemburg. AUERSPERG

 

Prince Georg von Auersperg died on 17 June.

 

[He was born at Salzburg on 11 September 1922, son of Prince Franz von Auersperg and of his wife, née Princess Hedwig von Lobkowicz. Since 1955 he had been married to Countess Eliane du Chastel de la Howarderie, and is survived by her, their daughter, Elisabeth Lovrek, and six grandchildren. Their other daughter, Zdenka Gräfin von Orsini und Rosenberg, predeceased him.] (added 20 Jun 2011)

 

Sunny Annie Laurie Kneissl (b.1983, daughter of Franz Ernst Kneissl and of Annie Laurie "Ala" Isham, née Princess Annie Laurie Henriette von Auersperg (daughter of Prince Alfried Eduard Friedrich Vincenz Martin Maria "Alfie" von Auersperg (1936-1992) and American heiress Martha Sharpe "Sunny" Crawford von Auersperg von Bulow (1931-2008)) and Aaron Matthew Zweig (b. ca. 1978), were married at St. Andrew's Dune Church, Southampton, Long Island, New York, June 25, 2011. The engagement was announced between Christophe Witt von Dörring (son of Karl Witt von Dörring [himself the son of Christian Witt von Dörring and of Eleonore Gräfin von Meran] and of his former wife née Clotilde Eeman) and Comtesse Marie-Aglae d’Aspremont Lynden (daughter of Comte Arnoud d’Aspremont Lynden and his wife née Hedwige Gräfin von Thurn und Valsassina [herself daughter of Ariprand Graf von Thurn und Valsassina and of his wife née Princess Maria von Auersperg). CROY

 

Princess Emmanuel de Croÿ, née Comtesse Nicole de Marnix de Sainte-Aldegonde (b.25 June 1919) died on 6 February. She had married in 1944 Prince Emmanuel de Croÿ (1908-1997), and is survived by their four children. (added 11 Feb 2011)

 

Comte Léopold de Lannoy died on 21 March.

 

[He was born at Woluwe-Saint-Pierre on 10 November 1926, son of Comte Maurice de Lannoy (1884-1942) and of Vicomtesse Louise de Spoelberch (1888-1953). Since 1955 he had been married to Princess Florence de Croy-Solre (b.1927, daughter of Prince Léopold de Croy-Solre (1877-1965) and of Jacqueline de Lespinay (1889-1977). He is survived by her and by four daughters and their families.) (added 23 Mar 2011)

 

Duke Carl von Croy died on 14 June.

 

[He was born at Düsseldorf on 11 October 1914, son of Duke Karl von Croy (1889-1974) and of his first wife, Nancy Leishman. Since 1953 he had been married to Princess Gabrielle of Bavaria, and is survived by her and their children.] (added 16 Jun 2011)

 

 

FÜRSTENBERG

 

Prince Antonius zu Fürstenberg (son of Prince Heinrich zu Fürstenberg and of Princess Maximiliane zu Windisch-Grätz) married Matilde Borromeo Arese Taverna at Isola Bella on 11 June. (updated 11 Jun 2011)

 

 

LOBKOWICZ

 

Prince Maximilian von Lobkowicz (b.1982, son of Prince Johannes von Lobkowicz and of Johanna Gräfin zu Castell-Castell) married Alina-Cécile von Hennigs on 8 April, followed by a religious wedding on 4 June. (added 8 Jun 2011)

 

 

 

LÖWENSTEIN-WERTHEIM-ROSENBERG / CASTELL-RÜDENHAUSEN

 

The engagement was announced between Prince Dominik zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg (son of Aloys-Konstantin Fürst zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and his wife Anastasia, née Princess of Prussia) and Olga Graziella Gräfin zu Castell-Rüdenhausen (daughter of Johann-Friedrich Fürst zu Castell-Rüdenhausen and his wife Maria, née Gräfin von Schönborn-Wiesentheid). ORSINI und ROSENBERG

 

Count Giovanni Battista Castelbarco Visconti (born on 2 October 1962, only son of the late count Alessandro Castelbarco Visconti and of his wife Elisabeth Castelbarco, née countess Ceschi a Santa Croce, herself daughter of Count Giovanni Ceschi a Santa Croce and of his wife Luise née Prinzessin zu Windisch-Grätz) and his wife Countess Tanja Castelbarco (born on 10 May 1970, née Baronin Nadherny von Borutin, daughter of the late Baron Christian Nadherny von Borutin and of his wife Ladislaja Maria nee Gräfin von Orsini und Rosenberg) had their fourth child, Countess Camilla Castelbarco Visconti on 1 September. Heinrich Fürst von Orsini und Rosenberg died on 11 December.

 

[He was born at Welzenegg on 29 January 1925, son of Johannes Fürst von Orsini und Rosenberg and of Henriette Gräfin Larisch von Moennich. In 1947 he married Eleonore Gräfin von Goëß (1928-2004), and is survived by their seven children and their families.] (added 5 Jan 2012)

 

 

ORTENBURG

 

Agathe Gräfin zu Ortenburg, née Gräfin von Schaesberg, died at Coburg on 20 December.

 

[She was born at Mainz on 14 May 1925, daughter of Joseph Graf von Schaesberg (1882-1963) and of his wife, née Comtesse Ghislaine de Berlaymont (1886-1954). In 1954 she married Alram Graf zu Ortenburg (1925-2007), and is survived by their four children and heir families.] (added 24 Dec 2011)

 

 

QUADT zu WYKRADY u.ISNY

 

Paul Fürst von Quadt zu Wykradt u.Isny died on 16 March.

 

[He was born at Isny on 28 November 1930, son of Alexander Fürst von Quadt zu Wykradt u.Isny and of Maria-Anna Gräfin Esterházy von Galántha, and succeeded as Fürst on the death in battle of his older brother in 1942. Since 1955 he had been married to Princess Charlotte of Bavaria, daughter of Duke Albrecht of Bavaria. He is survived by her, their four children, and grandchildren.] (updated 18 Mar 2011)

 

 

SALM-REIFFERSCHEIDT-KRAUTHEIM und DYCK

 

Johannes Graf Huyn (b.Warsaw 3 July 1930), husband since 1959 of Rosemary Altgräfin zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Krautheim und Dyck (1937-2004), died on 22 January. (added 17 Feb 2011)

 

 

SALM-SALM

 

Eleonore Fürstin zu Salm-Salm, née von Eleonore Sophie Eveline von Zitzewitz, died at Aumühle/Reinbek on 16 February.

 

[She had been born at Prebendow on 24 November 1919, daughter of Wilhelm-Siegfried Otto Martin von Zitzewitz (1871-1949) and of Eleonore Heyn (1895-1975). In 1940 she married Harras Ursus Caminneci, who was killed in action in Russia in 1944. She had a son from that marriage. From 1950 to 1961 she was married to Nikolaus Leopold Fürst zu Salm-Salm (1906-1988), and had one son from that marriage. She is survived by her sons, Pier Caminneci, and Ludwig-Wilhelm Prinz zu Salm-Salm, and 5 grandchildren.] (added 22 Feb 2011)

The religious wedding ceremony of Alexander Johannsmann and Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (daughter of Richard Fürst zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and of his wife, Princess Benedikte of Denmark [herself the daughter of King Frederik IX of Denmark and of his wife, Princess Ingrid of Sweden]) was held at Berleburg on 18 June. Maria-Antonia Freifrau von Twickel, née Gräfin zu Stolberg-Stolberg, died at Westheim on 6 May.

 

[She was born at Padberg on 2 November 1923, daughter of Josef Graf zu Stolberg-Stolberg and of Helene Gräfin Droste zu Vischering. In 1947 she married Klemens Freiherr von Twickel (1911-1960) and is survived by their children.] (added 8 Jun 2011)

 

 

Wilhelm Graf zu Stolberg-Stolberg died at Cascais on 3 April.

 

[He was born at Ascherode on 2 June 1927, son of Joseph Graf zu Stolberg-Stolberg and of Theresia Freiin von Ketteler. He was married firstly from 1961 to 1970 to Princess Irene von Isenburg, secondly, in 1972, to Annemarie Elisabeth Klaas (1933-2002), and thirdly, in 2005, to Frances Ann Sutherland. Prince Alexander Frederick Bradley della Torre e Tasso died at Awendaw, South Carolina, on 29 August.

 

[He was born at Schloß Mzell on 26 February 1940, son of Prince Ludwig della Torre e Tasso (himself the son of Prince Alexander von Thurn und Taxis, Principe della Torre e Tasso, Duca di Castel Duino, and of his first wife, Princess Marie de Ligne) and of his wife, Frances Goodyear. He is survived by his second wife, Connie, three children from his first marriage to Martha Singer, and grandsons Teddy and Nathan.] (added 14 Sep 2011)

Countess Maria Teresa Ceschi  a Santa Croce, née dei marchesi Roi died in Vicenza (Italy) on 10 May.

 

[She was born in 1922, daughter of Marchese Gino Roi and of Nobile Antonia Lonigo and married in 1950 Count Leonida Ceschi a Santa Croce (1918-2010, himself son Count Giovanni Battista Ceschi  a Santa Croce (1871-1936) and of Princess Luise zu Windish-Graetz (1886-1971)).
