Maria Kainz, née Princess von Auersperg, died at Waidhofen/Thaya on 9 October.

Prince Hubertus zu Bentheim und Steinfurt died at Ibbenbüren on 6 March.


[He was born at Ilsenburg on 26 October 1919, son of Prince Karl Georg zu Bentheim und Steinfurt and of his wife, née Princess Margarita von Schönaich-Carolath. In 1957 he married Eva Luise Wagner (1925-2003) and is survived by their three children.] (added 10 Apr 2010)


Prince Ferdinand zu Bentheim und Steinfurt died on 19 September.


[He was born at Münster on 13 August 1938, son of Viktor Adol Fürst zu Bentheim und Steinfurt and of his second wife, Princess Rosa Helene zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich. Since 1970 he had been married to Leonie Keller, and is survived by her and two children.] (added 23 Sep 2010)





Prince Maximilian zu Bentheim-Tecklenburg (fourth son of Moritz-Casimir Fürst zu Bentheim-Tecklenburg and of his wife, née Huberta Gräfin von Hardenberg) and his wife, née Marissa Clara Fortescue, are expecting their fourth child near the end of July. (added 3 May 2010)




Countess Brydgytte Blanche Bentinck died at Haren, Groningen, Netherlands, on 5 September.


[She was born at Bristol on 11 November 1916, daughter of Count Robert Charles Bentinck and of Lady Norah Noel. In 1937 she married Jhr Adriaan van der Wyck (1906-1973), and is survived by their five children and numerous grandchildren.] (added 10 Sep 2010)





Christian Graf zu Castell-Rüdenhausen died at Kasteel Twickel, Delden, Netherlands, on 21 January.


[He was born at Schloss Rüdenhausen on 8 August 1952, son of Siegfried Fürst zu Castell-Rüdenhausen and of his wife, née Irene Gräfin zu Solms-Laubach. Since 1977 he had been married to Carolina Hintzen. He is survived by her and their children.] (added 24 Jan 2010)





Prince Johann Georg zu Isenburg und Büdingen (son of Prince Ferdinand Heinrich zu Isenburg und Büdingen and of his wife, née Princess Elisabeth of Schleswig-Holstein) married Dr. Stefanie Bittner at Schloß Glücksburg on 5 June, following a civil ceremony on 4 June. Their first child, Anna Carolina Prinzessin zu Isenburg und Büdingen, was born at Frankfurt on 8 January 2010. (added 6 Jun 2010)





Gabriel Gräfin von Kuefstein, née Gräfin von Mensdorff-Pouilly, died at Horn on 6 October.


[She was born at Boskowitz on 7 February 1926, daughter of Eduard Graf von Mensdorff-Pouilly and of his wife, Gisela Gräfin von Collalto u.San Salvatore. Since 1949 she had been married to Karl Ferdinand Graf von Kuefstein, and is survived by him, four children, and seven grandchildren. (added 7 Oct 2010)





Prince Eduard von Lobkowicz died at Paris on 2 April.


[He was born at New York on 12 Jun 1926, son of Prince Eduard von Lobkowicz and of Anita Lihme. Since 1959 he had been married to Princess Marie Françoise of Bourbon-Parma, daughter of Prince Xavier of Bourbon-Parma and of Madeleine de Bourbon-Busset. Alfred-Ernst Fürst zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg died at Kreuzwertheim on 13 January.


[He was born at Schloss Triefenstein on 19 September 1924, son of Udo Fürst zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg (1896-1980) and of Margarete Gräfin zu Castell-Castell. In 1950 he married Ruth-Erika von Buggenhagen (1922-2009). He is survived by their five children.] (added 15 Jan 2010)





Carl Friedrich Erbprinz zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg died on 24 April after a crash in a race at the Nürburgring.


[He was born at Frankfurt am Main on 30 September 1966, son of Aloys-Konstantin Fürst zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and of his wife, Princess Anastasia of Prussia. He had been married since 1998 to Stephanie Freiin von Brenken, and is survived by her and their four children.] (added 26 Apr 2010)


Prince Hubertus zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg (son of Aloys-Konstantin Fürst zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and of his wife, née Princess Anastasia of Prussia) married Iris Freiin von Dörnberg (daughter of Jürgen Freiherr von Dörnberg and of his wife, née Beatrix von Bischoffshausen) on 18 September at Alsfeld. Philipp Graf von Neipperg (son of Karl Eugen Graf von Neipperg and of his wife, née Archduchess Andrea of Austria) and his wife, née Paula Wolff (daughter of Lukas Wolff and of his wife, née Ladislaja Gräfin von Meran) are expecting their second child in late summer or early autumn. Gert Sielaff, second husband of Princess Isabelle zu Oettingen-Oettingen und Oettingen-Wallerstein (1952-2002), daughter of Prince Wolfgang zu Oettingen-Oettingen und Oettingen-Wallerstein and of Henriette de Longueval Gräfin von Buquoy, died on 5 May. (added 17 May 2010)





Clemens Emanuel Graf von Mirbach-Harff (son of Antonius Graf von Mirbach-Harff and of Elisabeth Gräfin von Westerholt und Gysenberg) married Princess Antonia zu Salm-Salm (daughter of Prince Michael zu Salm-Salm and of Philippa Gräfin zu Castell-Castell) at Saint Laurentius, Wallhausen bei Bad Kreuznach, on 3 July. A civil wedding was held on 30 June. (added 4 Jul 2010)





Alexander Johannsmann married Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (daughter of Richard Fürst zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and of his wife, Princess Benedikte of Denmark [herself the daughter of King Frederik IX of Denmark and of his wife, Princess Ingrid of Sweden]) at Berleburg on 27 May. Their first child, Konstantin, was born at Bad Berleburg on 24 July. (updated 26 Jul 2010)


Prince Casimir-Johannes zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg died on 21 February.


[He was born at Frankfurt on 22 January 1917, son of Prince Otto-Konstantin zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (1878-1955) and of Princess Elisabeth zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg (1890-1953). He was married firstly from 1939 to 1949 to Ingrid Alsen (1915-1966); secondly, in 1950, to Iris Ryle (1917-2004); and thirdly, in 1988, to Beatrix von Eichel (b.1942). Karl Max Graf von Schaesberg died on 12 June.

Marie-Agnes Louise Mathilde Prollius, née Gräfin zu Solms-Baruth, died on 6 January.


[She was born at Potsdam on 31 December 1916, daughter of Hermann Franz Graf zu Solms-Baruth (1888-1961) and of Anna Gräfin von Hochberg Freiin zu Fürstenstein (1888-1966). She was married firstly in 1938 to Hans Balduin von Plessen (1907-1940); secondly, from 1943 to 1948 to Johannes-Heinrich Graf von Saurma (1909-1977); and thirdly in 1949 to Albert Prollius (1905-1992).] (added 10 Apr 2010)

Rafael Ernesto Longo, husband of Eleonore Gräfin Waldbott von Bassenheim (daughter of Felix Graf Waldbott von Bassenheim and of Iris de Romaro de Turetta) died at Buenos Aires on 24 April. (added 26 Apr 2010)





Prince Friedrich Christian Hermann Wilhelm Alexis zu Wied (son of Prince Metfried zu Wied and of his wife, née Felicitas Freiin v.der Pahlen) and his wife, née Sibylle Garbe, are expecting their fourth child in September. (added 28 Jul 2010)






Prince Alexis zu Windisch-Graetz, son of Prince Mariano-Hugo zu Windisch-Graetz and of Archduchess Sophie of Austria, died tragically in a car accident in Sant'Angelo d'Alife (near Caserta, Italy) on 9 February. He was born in Rome on 7 december 1991 and was unmarried. He was buried in the Teutonic Cemetery inside the Vatican City.


Count Leonida (called Leo) Ceschi a Santa Croce died in Vicenza on 1 April.


[He was born at Haasberg Castle in 1918, son of Count Giovanni battista Ceschi a Santa Croce (1871-1936) and of Princess Luise zu Windisch-Graetz (1886-1976). He married in 1950 Nobile Maria Teresa Roi (b.1922) and is survived by her, four sons and two daughters.] (added 17 Apr 2010)
