Prince Davit Bagration de Moukhrani (son of Prince George Bagration de Moukhrani and of his first wife, née Maria de las Mercedes Zornoza y Ponce de Léon) married Princess Anna Bagration-Gruzinsky (daughter of Prince Nugzar Bagration-Gruzinsky and of his wife, née Leila Kipiani) at the Cathedral of Sameba, Tbilisi, on 8 February le 8 février 2009. Prince Nugzar is the senior member of the last-reigning branch of the family, and is sometimes referred to as Prince of Georgia and Head of the Royal House. (updated 10 Feb 2009)

In 1942 she married Franz Friedrich Maria Josef Ladislaus Graf von Batthyány-Strattman (1915-1998), son of Ladislaus Fürst von Batthyány-Strattmann and of his wife, née Maria Theresia Gräfin von Coreth zu Coredo u.Starkenberg. Susanna Agnelli, daughter of the late Edoardo Agnelli and of the late Donna Virginia Bourbon Del Monte dei principi di San Faustino, died in Rome on 15 May. She was born in 1922 and married in 1945 Count Urbano Rattazzi, by whom divorced in 1975. She is survived by two sons and four daughters. (added 24 May 2009)

Prince Guillaume de Broglie (son of Prince Amaury de Broglie and of his wife, née Marie-Anne Michelin) and his wife, née Nathalie Carretté (daughter of François Carretté and of his wife, née Elisabeth Rigaud) had their first child, Alexis, at Paris on 22 March. (added 19 Apr 2009)

 

Père Guillaume de Broglie died on 23 August. He had been born Prince Guillaume de Broglie on 18 September 1927, son of  Prince Dominique de Broglie and of his wife, née Guillemette Lamy de La Chapelle-Nougarère. (added 27 Aug 2009)

David de Crespigny Smiley died on 8 January.

In 1947 he married Moyra Montagu-Douglas-Scott, daughter of Lord Francis Montagu-Douglas-Scott (himself the son of the 6th Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry) and of his wife, née Lady Eileen Elliot, and widow of Hugo Douglas Tweedie. Major Sir Arthur John Stewart Griffin, KCVO, Press Secretary to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, 1956-91, died on 1 April.

After their divorce, she married in 1976 (as his second wife) Don Ferdinando dei principi Del Drago Marescotti, Principe di Parrano (b.1927) She had an only son from this first marriage, who preceased her.
