Since 1954 he had been married to Anne de Vogüé, daughter of Comte Robert-Jean de Vogüé and of his wife, née Ghislaine Eudes d’Eudeville. Hereditary Prince Carl Ferdinand zu Bentheim und Steinfurt (son of Prince Reinhard zu Bentheim und Steinfurt and of his wife, née Angelica Emmermann) married Elna-Margret Rinn (daughter of Manfred Rinn and Brigitte Renate Strauss) at Burg Bentheim on 19 July, followed by a religious wedding at Steinfurt on 21 July. Hubertus Graf von Faber-Castell died on 29 January.

He was married from 1960 to 1967 to Liselotte Baecker; from 1970 to 1982 to Adelheid Freiin von dr Leyen zu Bloemersheim; and from 1984 until her death in 2006 to Dorothea Mühlbach. Comtesse Thierry de Limburg Stirum, née Princess Marie-Immaculée de Croy, died at Huldenburg on 23 January.

Alexander Mitchell and his wife, née Philippa Gräfin Czernin v.Chudenitz (daughter of Joseph Graf Czernin v.Chudenitz and of his wife, née Hon Hazel Scott-Ellis [herself the daughter of the late John Scott-Ellis, Lord Howard de Walden, and of his wife, née Irene Gräfin von Harrach]) had a third daughter, Olivia Maria Theodora, on 23 January. Princess Maria Francisca “Pimpinella” zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg died on 4 January.

[She was born at San Sebastián on 26 August 1922, daughter of Prince Max Egon zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1897-1968) and of his wife, née Doña Maria de la Piedad Iturbe y Scholtz, Marquesa de Belvis de las Navas (1892-1990). Princess Elisabeth zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen (daughter of August Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen and of his second wife, née Valerie von Carstanjen) died at Vienna on 2 January. She had been married since 1970 to János Farkas and had one daughter. (added 9 Jan 2007)

Comtesse Jean-Christian de Bourdoncle de Saint-Salvy, née Aminta Garros, died on 5 November.

Princess Maria Elisabeth zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg died at Berlin on 13 December.

[She was born at New York on 26 November 1939, daughter of Hubertus Graf von Löwenstein-Scharffeneck (a grandson of Prince Leopold Emil Ludwig Konrad zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg and of his wife, née Amalie Wolrabe, Gräfin von Löwenstein-Scharffeneck, Hubertus assumed the title of Prince; authorities seem divided over whether he was entitled to do so) and of his wife, née Helga Schuylenburg. She was reportedly married at one time to Gernot Renauer, but he is not mentioned inher death notices.] (added 18 Dec 2007)

LÖWENSTEIN-WERTHEIM-ROSENBERG

Agnes Gräfin von Ballestrem (b.1935, daughter of Carl Wolfgang Graf von Ballestrem and of his wife, née Princess Theresia zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg) died on 14 April. (added 24 Apr 2007)

Karl Ludwig Graf von Ballestrem (b.1939, son of Carl Wolfgang Graf von Ballestrem and of his wife, née Princess Theresia zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg) died on 8 May. He had been married since 1966 to Maria del Consuelo Freiin von Gagern, and is survived by her and by their four children. (added 14 May 2007)

LOOZ und CORSWAREM

Princess Marie-Louise von Looz und Corswarem died at Rheine on 7 March.

[She was born Marie-Louise Vanloo at Anderlecht on 29 May 1921. By adoption she took the surname van den Bogaerde de Terbrugge. In 1952 she married Prince René von Looz und Corswarem (1921-1988), son of Camille, Duke von Looz und Corswarem, and of his wife, née Céline Foulon. No children were born of the marriage. Alram Graf zu Ortenburg died at Schloß Tambach on 6 August.

[He was born at Budapest on 23 October 1925, son of Franz Carl Graf zu Ortenburg (1875-1936) and of his wife, née Helene Gräfin Semsey de Semse (1895-1978). Since 1954 he had been married to Agathe Gräfin von Schaesberg, daughter of Joseph Graf von Schaesberg and of his wife, née Comtesse Ghislaine de Berlaymont. They had two sons and two daughters. Hans-Detlev Graf von Platen Hallermund died at Hamburg on 24 April.

[He was born at Berlin-Charlottenburg on 14 November 1938, son of Hans Georg Carl Joseph Graf von Platen Hallermund and of his wife, née Elisabeth Freiin von Lyncker. He was married firstly to Adelheid Fischer, and secondly, from 1985, to Marianne Hormann. He had a son and a daughter from the first marriage; the son predeceased him.] (added 22 May 2007)

Angelica Freifrau von Fürstenberg, née von Boch-Galhau, died at Salzburg on 31 October.

[She was born at Mettlach on 4 November 1911, daughter of Johann Benedikt Luitwin von Boch-Galhau and of his wife, née Adeline Freiin von Liebieg. In 1937 she married Benedikt Freiherr von Fürstenberg (1911-2004), son of Max Adolf Freiherr von Fürstenberg and of his wife, née Franziska Gräfin von Rechberg (herself the daughter of Otto Graf von Rechberg and of his wife, née Princess Therese zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst). Barone Giovanni Malfatti di Montetretto married Sophie Gräfin von Waldburg zu Wolfegg und Waldsee (daughter of Wunibald Graf von Waldburg zu Wolfegg und Waldsee and of his wife, née Michaela von Oertzen) at the St. Gallus und Ulrich Kirche in Kisslegg on 10 February.
