The Family of the Princes of Lithuania

 

 

 

 

Three brothers came into prominence in the early 14th century: Witen, became Pr of Polotzk in 1307 and of Lithuania in 1297, d.1315 (leaving one son, Pr Lubko of Polotzk(d.1342)); Pr Theodor of Kiev; and Gedymin, who became Great Prince of Lithuania in 1305 and Prince of Poland 1333.

 

   Gedymin founded the city of Vilna, and was k.a.1341/2; he m.1st Wida, dau.of Widmund N; m.2nd Olga, dau.of Wsewelod of Smolensk; m.3rd Jewna (d.1344) dau.of Pr Iwan of Polotzk. He had issue:
