Well here's a page on the friendship between Serena/Usagi and Raye/Rei, since their friendship is so misunderstood.
Although on the anime they are constantly bickering and fighting over everything and nothing, they really are best friends.Raye, who usually doesn't like whiny and crybabies like Serena, does grow fond of her, although she will constantly critiseze her. But behind all that fighting and arguing, she really does care for Serena, and the only reason she acts mean towards her is to make her act more maturily and responsibly.
