First published, August, 2007., in this third edition, folks traditionally surmised that Christian spirituality was brought into the African continent. Author James Wesly Smith indicates in this 456 reference tome.
“Not so fast. Yeshua (Jesus) grew up in Africa until age 6 or 7 to escape ing Herod’s 10 assassins,” Smith points out. He cites the Christian Bible references of Hosea 11:1, and Matthew 2:13-15, “Out of Africa, I called my son”.
Blending the lists of Coptic, Orthodox and Latin Rite friends of God called “saints”, Smith points out that more than 56,000 Black and African-heritaged folks labored in the faith. He says it was partly that because places such as Kemet (Egypt) was Rome’s bread baskets subject to higher taxes, this forced many holy folk into the deserts where the faith thrived.
In folksy style, Smith also goes onto to say that in ancient Macedonian, Greek, Roman, or even Ottoman Turkish maps, the term “North Africa”, is found nowhere. The attorney author concludes it as a colonialist construct to denigrate the achievements and contributions of holy Africans.

“Why do you follow a white god? Why do you worship in institutions that never accepted you?” — Stinging questions Black Catholics and others ethnic perennially parry from members in the historically Black Churches.
The questions traditionally have included queries from Al Islam (Muslims) believers in the urban areas.
But now evidence exists that Christianity (also) sprang out of the African, as opposed to the Saudi Arabia origination of the Prophet Muhammad and his original followers. I come this night as the Immaculate Conception and Patroness of this great nation of the United States of America.
I come with urgency to ask you to pray, pray, pray. My little ones, Satan is trying to destroy my plans; therefore, I desire that with a spirit of humility, faith and trust, you listen well to what I come to ask you.
I desire that each one of you do penance and fast; the fast should be with bread and water every Friday.
I desire that after each Communion you pray 3 Hail Mary’s for my intentions that I have for this nation.
I desire that you consecrate (everyday) to my Immaculate Heart this country that I love with a profound love.
Satan believes that he is winning the battle, but in the depth and intimacy of my Immaculate Heart I am winning the battle. Listen to my pleas and put into practice each one of my requests. If you do, I will be able to help you.
Dear children, thank you for having accepted my message of this night. I bless you in a special way. Do not be afraid for I am with you. If you obey me you will see the triumph of my Immaculate Heart.
I thank my beloved priests and deacon who helped me this night. May the peace of Almighty God be with all of you.

“My Flesh is True Food”
Dear Friends,
Below you will read the passage from St. John‘s Gospel 6:52-59.
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.” These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

“I call you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters scattered all over the world, to come to believe that I am truly present in the Eucharist. When I taught the people about the Eucharist, I stressed the fact that after consecration they are eating My flesh and drinking My blood. Yes, it is no longer bread and wine, but My flesh and My blood. You who are of age to understand and to receive the Eucharist must take My words in this passage of the Bible to heart. If you do not eat the Eucharist, you do not have eternal life in you. If you eat My flesh and drink My blood then I come and live in you and if I live in you, then you have truly eternal life and you will be in heaven one day. The Eucharist is My greatest gift to you because it is the gift of Myself. I bless you all.”

“I am the Bread of Life”
Dear Friends,
I am the Living Bread
The Jews murmured about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven,” and they said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph? Do we not know his father and mother? Then how can he say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Stop murmuring among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day. It is written in the prophets: ‘They shall all be taught by God.’
Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” (John 6:41-51)

“I love you, My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters spread throughout the world. I have given you the greatest gift I could give you, namely Myself. I am the Bread of Life and anyone who eats this bread will live forever. The Bread of Life is the Eucharist, which I celebrated with My Apostles on Holy Thursday. I took bread and wine and changed them into My Body and Blood and gave these to My Apostles to eat and drink. They did so and they were united to Me in a very special way.
I want all those, who believe in Me and have repented of their sins, to come and receive Me in the Holy Eucharist as often as possible. Holy Mass is offered every day in most parishes and the priest who has received the power to consecrate the bread and wine into My Body and Blood prepares this gift for you. Come and eat My flesh and My blood and I will live in your heart at all times. Remember that the Eucharist is the gift of Myself to you. Through the Eucharist you are united to Me and I will help you and guide you all the days of your life. Believe in the great miracle of the Eucharist and come often to adore Me in the Blessed Sacrament. I love you all.”

The Bread of Life
Dear Friends,
Below you will find the passage from the Gospel of St. John 6:34-40. Jesus said to the crowd, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst. But I told you that although you have seen me, you do not believe. Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.”

So many today are losing their faith because they do not put it in practice. I want you all to go to church at least every Sunday. I call you to believe that I am the Bread of Life. When the Jews were in the desert, I gave them manna to eat and this manna was a foretaste of what I would give you during My stay on earth with you. I gave you Myself as food and drink.
As you know I took bread and spoke the words, ‘This is My Body,‘and then gave it to the Apostles to eat. What they ate was My flesh under the appearance of bread. Then I took the chalice filled with wine and I said, ‘This is the chalice of My Blood,‘ and I gave the chalice to the Apostles to drink. They drank My Blood. So I am truly present under the species of bread and wine. Believe these words.”

The World’s Hatred
Dear Friends,
Please read Jesus’ words below from the Gospel of St. John 15:18-27.“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’
If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but as it is they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me also hates my Father.
If I had not done works among them that no one else ever did, they would not have sin; but as it is, they have seen and hated both me and my Father. But in order that the word written in their law might be fulfilled, ‘They hated me without cause.’ “When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.”
I was at the Manor yesterday afternoon and I celebrated Holy Mass with a big group of people and right after the Mass I visited those Catholics who could not come and gave them Holy Communion. They are always very happy to receive the Eucharist.
Below you will find the message Jesus gave me,
“Melvin My brother, I love you and I love all My brothers and sisters living in every part of the world. I have a special love for all My friends who suffer at the hands of their fellow men. You hear almost every day of the death of a Bishop, a priest, a religious or a lay Catholic killed because of their faith in Me. I told the Apostles before I ascended into heaven that they would suffer.
You know the way they treated Me, so many will be treated the same way and they will be martyred because of their faith in Me. There were many great martyrs at the beginning of the Church and there are still many today. Because of their supreme witness to the faith, these martyrs are all in heaven with Me filled with peace and joy.
My friends, do not fear those who can kill the body but cannot touch your soul. Offer your sufferings together with My suffering to the Father for the conversion of all the people of the world but especially for the conversion of the members of your family. If you are persecuted, rejoice because you are following in My footsteps. When I was on earth, many hated Me, lies were told against Me and at times, when I healed someone, I was told I was healing through the power of the devil.
Do not worry about what people think of you but instead be My disciples. Lift up your heart and mind to Me every day and love all your friends and neighbours. Be a witness of your faith and love in Me and a faithful member of My Church. When life is a struggle, remember I am even closer to you than before. I love you and bless you.“
Satans last days: Like a wasp when dying the sting will be the most painful

My daughter please remember that man only has to look around him to know big changes have come into the world.
Normal every day events no longer seem the same. The joys you receive children from material gain have lost their lustre. They no longer appeal. They are tinged with a mask of nothingness.
Why is this? Don't you know that it is the scourge of the antichrist and his presence on earth which casts these shadows?
He, the spawn of Satan infects every level of your society including politics, the military forces, financial institutions, humanitarian organisations and even your churches.
Not one sector has been spared in order that he can inflict pain on humanity in these his last days on earth.
Remember that I, your Jesus, have given you, My followers, the power of the Holy Spirit to render these evil perpetrators impotent.
The more you rise in battle through the strength of your faith then the weaker will be the grip of the antichrist.
Prayer, and especially the Crusade Prayers given to you, My messenger, will help drive out this evil.
All evil can be destroyed through prayer. It is that simple.
The days are numbered for the survival of satan and his army. However, like a wasp when dying, the sting will be the most painful.
Show patience and perseverance during these trials and you, My army, in hope and confidence will march in unity towards the gates of My New Paradise on earth.

Feb 12 - A TIME OF TEMPTATION - To Ivan's prayer group in 1988:
Dear children, I am your Mother and I warn you this time is a time of temptation. Satan is trying to find emptiness in you, so he can enter and destroy you. Do not surrender! I will pray with you. Do not pray just with your lips, but pray with the heart. in this way prayer will obtain victory! (Visionary Prayer Group Message 7-4-88).
In Matthew's gospel, the powers of evil retreat when confronted by the Son of God:
When he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, two demoniacs coming out of the tombs met him. They were so fierce that no one could pass that way. Suddenly they shouted, "What have you to do with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"
Now a large herd of swine was feeding at some distance from them. The demons begged him, "If you cast us out, send us into the herd of swine." And he said to them, "Go!" So they came out and entered the swine; and suddenly the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the water (Matthew 8:28-32).
Reflection:
Our Lady always seeks to protect us from harm, and so naturally warns us of approaching danger. Thus she reveals Satan to us, although he would much rather remain hidden. "Satan is trying to find emptiness in you," she says, "so he can enter and destroy you. Do not surrender!"
The gospel writers also reveal to us the Evil One and his cruelty, but show us as well his powerlessness when confronted by the Son of God. This eternal victory of Christ over evil is also our victory. When calling on his name in time of temptation, the enemy is immediately routed.
It is tapping into this power of Christ through prayer that is our chief weapon against Satan. This is why the Gospa urges us not to pray in rote fashion, "but pray with the heart. In this way prayer will obtain victory!"

I have come to understand today that even if I did not accomplish any of the things the Lord is demanding of me, I know that I shall be rewarded as if I had fulfilled everything, because He sees the intention with which I begin, and even if He called me to himself today, the work would not suffer at all by that, because He himself is the Lord of both the work and the worker. My part is to love Him to folly; all works are nothing more than a tiny drop before Him. It is love that has meaning and power and merit. He has opened up great horizons in my soul-love compensates for the chasms. (822)

Feb 13 - DEVOTE YOUR PRAYERS TO ME
From a monthly message in 1988:
Dear children, again I call you to prayer and complete surrender to God. You know that I love you, and have come here out of love so that I could show you the way to peace -- and to salvation for your souls. Do not let Satan corrupt you -- obey me in this. Satan is very strong and therefore I ask you to devote your prayers to me, so that those who are under his influence may be saved. Witness by your lives. Sacrifice your lives for the salvation of the world. Know that I am with you and am grateful to you' in heaven you will receive the Father's reward, as he has promised. And so, dear children, do not be afraid. If you pray, Satan cannot harm you in the least, for you are God's children and he watches over you. Pray, and let the rosary always be in your hands as a sign to Satan that you belong to me (Monthly Message 3-25-88).
In Matthew's gospel, Jesus also calls us to prayer. Note that the Our Father contains a prayer against Satan as well: "and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." In Matthew, this petition is expressed in these words: "And do not bring us to the time of trial, but deliver us from the evil one" (Matthew 6:13).
Reflection:
At times we may notice that our prayer has become too self-centered. This is an opportunity to again focus on others, on "we" rather than "I", which is the spirit of the Lord's Prayer. In this vein, Charles Thompson writes:
You can not pray the Lord's Prayer and even once say "I."
You can not pray the Lord's Prayer and even once say "My." Nor can you pray the Lord's Prayer, and not pray for another; for when you ask for daily bread, you must include your brother.
For others are included in each and every plea: from the beginning to the end of it, it does not once say "Me."
Application:
Review the focus of your prayer today. Is it weighted more to yourself or to others? How can you correct the imbalance?
Medjugorje Day By Day Feb 14 - ST. VALENTINES DAY
"Our Lord finished His work, but we have not finished ours. He pointed the way we must follow. He laid down the Cross at the finish, but we must take it up. He finished Redemption in His physical Body, but we have not finished it in His Mystical Body. He has finished salvation, we have not yet applied it to our souls. He has finished the Temple, but we must live in it. He has finished the model Cross, we must fashion ours to its pattern. He has finished sowing the seed, we must reap the harvest. He has finished filling the chalice, but we have not finished drinking its refreshing draughts. He has planted the wheat field; we must gather it into our barns. He has finished the sacrifice of Calvary; we must finish the Mass. The Crucifixion was not meant to be an inspirational drama, but a pattern act on which to model our lives. During the morning meditation, I felt an aversion and a repugnance for all created things. Everything pales before my eyes; my spirit is detached from all things. I desire only God himself, and yet I must live. This is a martyrdom beyond description. God imparts himself to the soul in a loving way and draws it into the infinite depths of His divinity, but at the same time He leaves it here on earth for the sole purpose that it might suffer and die of longing for Him. And this strong love is so pure that God himself finds pleasure in it; and self-love has no access to its deeds, for here everything is totally saturated with bitterness, and thus is totally pure. Life is a continuous dying, painful and terrible, and at the same time it is the depth of true life and of inconceivable happiness and the strength of the soul; and because of this, [the soul] is capable of great deeds for the sake of God. Feb 14 - ST. VALENTINE'S DAYOn this Valentine's Day, the Blessed Mother asks for our hearts:
Dear children, today I invite you to offer me your hearts so that I can change them to be like my own. You ask yourselves why you are not able to satisfy my requests? You are not able to because you have not entrusted your hearts to me, so that I can change them. You give me words, but you do not act. So then, do all that I tell you. Only in that way can I be with you (Weekly Message 5-15-86).
Reflection:
On this feast of St. Valentine, Our Lady asks for our hearts, "so I can change them to be like my own." Once we give them, they are filled with God's own life and love; indeed, they are made eternal:
See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is (1 Jn 3:1-2).
This is the great inheritance of love, a gift beyond imagining -- to share in the very life of God.
This is also the reason Our Lady asks for our hearts today, that she can begin to transform them into the image of her Son's. We can then begin to live the life of heaven while on earth, embracing others with the divine love that has been given to us. As St. Teresa of Avila wrote:
O soul in God hidden from sin,
What more desires for thee remain,
Save but to love, and love again,
And all on flame with love within,
Love on, and turn to love again?

In prayer today, simply ask the Lord to deepen his love within your heart.

My dearly beloved daughter I missed you yesterday. I woke you during the night do you remember? You were too tired but how I wanted to speak to you then.
Today I must urge you to tell the world that war is to escalate and that, unless more of My followers pray, there will be a nuclear war inflicted.
This is close and prayer can avert this along with the hand of My Eternal Father.
I need more of My followers to spread My Holy Word given to all of humanity for the good of your souls.
You, My daughter, are being attacked by those who say that the Holy Book of My Father is being shoved aside in favour of these messages. This is not so.
My messages today are to reinforce the teachings contained in the Holy Bible because so many in the world today do not know what is contained therein.
Nor will they know the warning signs of the end times unless I reveal them to you now.
Why is this? I must prepare your souls for My New Paradise. Never feel I am trying to bring you on a different path.
For there is only one path to Paradise and I am the one who will guide you to its gates.

YOU WILL WALK AND WALK TOWARDS YOUR PURIFICATION, BUT YOU DO NOT WALK ALONE.
I THE LORD, GOD ALMIGHTY, WALK WITH MY PEOPLE PROTECTING THEM.
I call you once more to unite in a single voice of reparation and in a single heart of love so that you are not subdued by evil.
You walk towards the Purification, towards the crucible from which you will emerge closer and closer, and more and more fused to My House.

A Father does not give His children directions so that these directions be forgotten. I call My children to come and nourish themselves from My Body and Blood duly prepared and duly repentant for all that their conscience tells them there has been wrongdoing.
How much work it costs man to detach himself from the flesh and from the feelings that disperse him and lead him to turn away from My Path!
I NEED A BRAVE PEOPLE THAT CENTER THEMSELVES IN ME, THAT GIVE THEMSELVES TO ME.
The difficult instants approach and they will be less difficult for you if you feed and nourish yourselves from My Body and My Blood.

Each child that nourishes itself from My Body and My Blood carries Me, is a soul that can live in My Likeness, since it is infinitely blessed and radiates the sun of My Love, both in itself and towards its brothers and sisters. That is how thousands of beings bless their brothers and sisters and all of Creation.
I need you to be conscious of what it represents to live nourishing oneself from My Body and from My Blood. It is expanding infinitely, it is elevating oneself. I do not wish to remain imprisoned in the soul, in the heart of the one who receives Me, rather I wish to give Myself “ad extra”(beyond myself), I want the soul to invite Me to go towards the infinite.
Those who nourish themselves from My Body and My Blood are a sun on the Earth, are a spark of blessing and are a word of Love. They are a precious pearl, are a firm rock that does not settle on quicksand because day to day I strengthen them more and more, and I fill them with Myself more and more, I give them My Love more and more, I give them more and more wisdom, more and greater constancy and faith.
COME, MY PEOPLE, COME TO THE EUCHARISTIC TABLE.
As My Mother being My Mother, maintained Herself at every moment of Her life and Her journeying on Earth nourishing of My Father’s Will, so you Her children, must be souls that fulfill that sublime act of Obedience.
If you do not understand, ask My Holy Spirit for the Gift of Understanding, remember that “to whom much is given much is asked.” And you, My People, receive everything and more than that all that you need, because I previously announce to you the events out of Love, out of My Infinite Love for you.
Remember that everyone must be a sun that travels and that moves on the Earth that gives light in the midst of that darkness that dwells in so many souls that are totally mundane and that lie in the mud without being able to get up.
HOW, HOW IS IT THAT ONE BLIND PERSON TRIES TO LEAD ANOTHER BLIND PERSON?
NO, MY CHILDREN, THAT WAY, THAT WAY YOU DO NOT WALK, THAT WAY YOU CANNOT WALK, THAT WAY YOU CANNOT COME TOWARDS ME.
You must be a sun that nourishes and feeds your brothers and sisters, a sun that reaches to the inmost recesses where darkness lies in order to disperse the darkness.

Faith, Hope, and Charity

I want you to write about faith, hope, and charity. These virtues work together to make a formidable union with me. To work on these virtues one must pray and fast unceasingly. When these virtues work together, they form great fruits. Fruits of wisdom, hope and love for fellow neighbor. Why not work on these virtues in yourself instead of focusing on selfish matters? Hope comes from true abandonment and trust in me. Faith comes from a strong love and hope in me. And charity is a fruit of the two when true love comes into play for your neighbor. When else in a world so full of gray that these virtues can bring color back. The time is now my children. Look to me to give you the answers you seek. I emphasize that my grace will give you these virtues in full. Pray for my grace to do this. I will gift you with the holy spirit and pour out these graces on you. I love you and this is why I need you to pray more powerfully for these virtues to come alive in you and your children. These virtues are an art and a gift from me that will fulfill my glory. The graces will overflow for you who seek out these virtues. Without these virtues one has no love for neighbor and for me. Work on these with love my children. I will help you.

When the Holy Spirit comes into you at your invitation, you receive as much of Him as you will ever have. You do not get a little bit of Him then and a little bit more at later experiences. Since He is a Person, you cannot get Him in pieces. You either have all of the Holy Spirit or you have none of the Holy Spirit. Why is it, then, that He seems to get us in pieces? He comes to us unconditionally, while we surrender to Him conditionally.
We give Him our Sundays but not our Mondays.
We give Him our actions but not our attitudes.
We give Him our relationships but not our reputations.
We give Him our time but not our thoughts.
We give Him our burdens but not our bodies.
We give Him our prayers but not our pleasures.
We give Him our crises but not our children.
We give Him our health but not our hearts.

As regards to your reading there is very little to be admired and hardly anything by which to be edified. It is absolutely necessary for you to add to such reading that of the Holy books (Sacred Scripture) so highly recommended by all the Holy Fathers of the Church. If you want to gain the quite unhoped-for fruit from such reading, it will be well to rid yourself of the prejudice you have with regard to the style and form in which these Holy books are set forth.

Our Lady promises an unforgettable Christmas if we accept her messages:
Dear children, I am calling you to prayer during these days. Many times I have given you messages in God's name, but you have not listened. This Christmas will be an unforgettable day for you, provided you accept the messages I AM GIVING YOU. Dear children, do not allow that day of joy to be a day of deep sorrow for me (Weekly Message Dec 6, 1984).
The Book of Daniel speaks of that sorrowful day:
Open shame, O Lord, falls on us because we have sinned against you. To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by following his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. (Dn 9:8-10).
Reflection:
Both readings today call us to repentance, to a change of heart. The Gospa asks that we truly accept her messages, that we take them seriously and live them. This is the ancient call of Advent, to prepare one's heart for the coming of the Lord.
It was in this context that Fr. Slavko Barbaric once gave a sermon in Medjugorje that called the people to conversion:
Our Lady wants us to abandon ourselves totally to God, our hearts belonging only to him, so that we may lose nothing and gain everything. It is the same process as when Our Lady invited us to pray the creed back in 1981; "I believe" means to give with one's heart, to entrust oneself to someone, to give oneself to someone. All of the events here at Medjugorje urge us to give ourselves totally, to give our hand to Our Lady, the Mother who calls us to peace each day.
Application:
In prayer today, ask the Blessed Mother to plant her messages deeply within your heart so that, in her words, "this Christmas will be unforgettable for you."
