Black Saints

Black Saints, Mystics, Holy Folk (The Ancient African Liturgical Church to 599 A.D.Vol. I)

57,000 Black Saints, Martyrs, and Holy Folk Discovered in the Ancient African Church before 599 A.D.

Out of Egypt I called My Son See Hosea 11:1, Matthew 2:15

Why do you follow a white god? Why do you worship in institutions that never accepted you? Stinging questions Black Catholics and others ethnic perennially parry from members in the historically Black Churches.

These and other similarly ethnic related and cogent questions traditionally have included queries from Al Islam (Muslims) believers in the urban areas.

But now evidence exists that Christianity (also) sprang out of the African, as opposed to the Saudi Arabia origination of the Prophet Muhammad and his original followers. Black Saints, Mystics, and Holy Folks (The Ancient African Liturgical Church, Vol. I). seeks to correct the oversight, especially as the Church grows by leaps in bounds in the Africa and the geologic and historical lands of Black Diaspora.

Such proofs can be gleaned from the 57,000 African Saints in the early 500 years from when Jesus (Yeshua) commissioned His apostles to go forth and teach all nations.

Horrors of enslavement and colonialism still haunt and direct the Black Church experience in the church. But now, Black Christians, Catholics and ethnics can show that Yeshua, Jesus the Christ, grew up in Africa, personally establishing an African root to His vine, and the branches. Black Saints, Mystics, and Holy Folk shows that the once powerful African Church had at least five apostles ministering there before their departures to other lands. Cephas (Simon Peter) in set up a church in Babylon, Egypt before going to Antioch and finally Rome. Phillip visited and assisted the Ethiopian Eunuch (See Acts 8:26-39. Nathaniel Bartholomew Levi ministered in Africa.

Tradition calls Matthew, Apostle to the Ethiopians (See http://www.traditioninaction.org/SOD/j092sdMatthew_9-21.htm

And Jude Thaddeus Lebbeus (Jesus cousin) healed there, according to Black Saints introductory chapters. The Coptic branch of the one, holy catholic (which means universal) Church still manifests proud traditions of the Holy Familys visits. (See Isaiah 19:1, Matthew 3: 13-15; http://touregypt.net/featurestories/journey.htm).

Important information, inasmuch United States Bishops (and those elsewhere) blew an opportunity to evangelize the formerly enslaved after the American Civil War.

As the Holy Catholic church struggles in the West, the Church African (originally part of the oriental Church), finds the leaves of growth regaining the light of day, bursting thought the concrete of neglect, persecution, and heresies of the Vandals, and Arians who nearly destroyed the African Church during the AD 400s.

Before there was Bishop TD Jakes, Noel Jones, Drs. Price & Creflo Dollar, there was Bishop Athanasius, Augustine, Macarius, Antony, --and there was Anub and Amoun.

Yes! More than 57,000 Africa Black saints (in groups), from the early church (we mention a few; tell where to find the rest).

To answer our brethren from Al Islam, no longer will you have to shirk, when you hear "Why do you follow a religion from Europe? You will be able to show that Christianity, the faith of Our Lord Yeshua, Jesus the Christ, came out of Africa, along with its precursor, the African Essenne and Therapeutae movements. Get yours today!

Black Saints, Mystics, and Holy Folk (The Ancient African Liturgical Church,Vol. I)

The African saints survived, either here, or in Christ because they had the faith of a mustard seed. Did you know there were more than 56,000 Black Saints and martyrs before the year 599 A.D.? Read about it!

Rejoice, Mary! Theotokos! Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Yeshua, Jesus, The Christ. Pray for us now and the hour of our death, amen!

Saints- A small excerpt (there are more than 30,000 recognized in Christianity in the African root of the Universal Latin Rite, one holy, Catholic, and Apostolic succession church. See http://www.ausorthodox.com/msaints.htm

Note: Ptah Merri, and Khemet/Kemet both ancient African names for Kemet.

"God's faithful are persecuted greatly. But it is their (and your) willingness to suffer that allowed them (and you) to become saints." Saint is but a friend of God, who attempted to do God's will. Now what constitute a "Black Saint", well, this writer uses the American, and by extension European common law, best expressed in the American Chinese Exclusion cases, "Anybody not white, is black".

On a more parochial level however, Americans were fond of saying in the 17th, 18th, 19th centuries, If you have one drop of black blood, you are black".

Now science tells us, in light theory, the color black is the absence of color. In pigment theory (art, etc), the color black is the sum toto of all colors. What a paradox, eh?

For the book, we took cognizance of anyone coming "out of Africa", as black. There was no "North Africa" on any ancient Roman, Greek, or Turkish maps (a colonialist ploy, we suspect).

Albeit many of the Blacks in Africa at the time, probably looked like the Creoles, of Louisiana, or the Mestizoes, of South America (mixed, Black and Indian, or otherwise). Like Grandma used to say, we got 'em "snow to crow"...so we who are of the melanin don't have to explain, eh? Peace of Christ be with all. The Editor.

Ibeion the Confessor, Khemet (Ptah Merri)ian ascetic, 26 Aug In some instances calendar dates differ while the saint may be the same. This is due to changes in the Latin, Byzantine, Coptic, Russian, or Greek rites (Orthodox) In the reign of the Roman emperors Decius & Valerianus they sent out a decree that all people of all ranks, slave or freeman should offer sacrifices onto the Roman Idols, and those who disobey the decree would face a death penalty. Soon after the edict, war broke out between the barbarians and the Romans. Two armies fought fiercely against each other. One day at the peak of the battle, Mercurius (Philopater was named Mercurius when he was promoted to the rank of comartyrsand) had a vision, he saw a man surrounded by light holding a drawn sword in his right hand, handing him the sword, telling him that he would have victory over the barbarians, and to remember the Lord, our God after the battle. (That is why He is called "of the two swords" ("Abu-Sefein") - one for the military sword, and the other is the sword of the Divine power given to him by the angel.) The saint then took the sword and dashed into the midst of the barbarians and mowed the enemy down like grass, he attacked so strongly that he slayed their King, his company and many others. The barbarians were terrified. They broke down and fled, the Romans were victorious. Thereafter, Mercurius was given the title "Supreme Comartyrsander Of all the Roman Armies" at 25 years of age. The hero Mercurius became preoccupied with his new life, and every city that was passed a festival was held in his honour. OLONETS St. Philopateer Mercurius On the Twenty-Fifth day of the blessed month of Hatour, the Church celebrates the Martyrdom of One night an angel appeared to the saint and told him that he would suffer ly for our Lord Jesus Christ because of the decree but he will receive a crown of victory in heaven. Later on Decius called on our saint for some matters of state, after a while Decius suggested that they all go to the temple to offer sacrifice to the idols, the hero slowly slipped away from the crowd, but a jealous soldier informed Decius that the hero Mercurius was not present because he was a Christian, the emperor did not believe this and wanted to see proof with his own eyes. Later on he found out that our saint was a Christian after Mercurius boldly confessed his Christianity before the emperor. The emperor at first tried to convince our saint to leave Christianity, then he started inflicting many grievous tortures on our hero by burning, ripping his flesh with nails, but through all this the Lord saved him from his troubles. In the end he received the crown of martyrdom by beheading.
