The cortege of the members of the foreign royal families invited to the wedding enter the Westerkerk just before the beginning of the religious ceremony. It is possible to recognize TM the King and Queen of the Belgians, TM the King and Queen of the Hellenes, TRH the Grand-Duke and Grand-Duchess of Luxembourg, HRH the Crown Prince of Norway and HRH Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, TRH the Prince and Princess of Liège, HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark, TRH the Prince and Princess of the Asturias, among others.
A beautiful photograph depicting the entrance of HRH Princess Beatrix and HRH Prince Claus, who had already been civilly married, in the Westerkerk for the religious ceremony of their wedding. Children bridesmaids and pages in front of them threw rose petals as they passed by and generated an amusing scene by throwing the petals right to the bride and groom’s seats before going to find their own places.
Beautiful photo of the new royal couple on the balcony of the Palace of the Dam, after having returned in the grand cortege from the Westerkerk. The balcony, decorated with yellow tulips, was the scene for the last public spots of the couple, since afterwards they went inside for the state banquet offered by HM Queen Juliana in their honour.
