Padawan Maverick, step forward. * listens to her own soft footfalls as she strides to the center of a large Ceremony hall of the Jedi Temple where her Padawan already waits. With all the members of the esteemed Jedi Council facing her, on both sides rows of Jedi and friends are lined, breathing in the energy that occupies the room. Without words or question, her Padawan kneels before her, head down. Placing a light hand on her Padawan’s head, she begins: * Padawan Maverick, you have showed yourself time and time again. Amazed us and pleased us. You prevailed like no other and made me proud in every way possible. You’ve showed your dedication, your willingness to help others – generosity, patience and obedience as a Padawan Learner. You’ve showed your true colors and made us all see what you were made of. You will truly be a Great Jedi Knight and go to show what the Order strives for. I am proud to call you my First, you are a great success. You’ve been the best Padawan, and I let you go on now to grow to the fullest of your potential, all that I know you can be. * Taking a hand from behind her back, emerges with it a slender dagger, simple yet stunning. * With this timeless symbol of the Jedi – the wisdom, the elegance and strength, I have the privilege of bestowing the rank of Jedi Knight upon you. * Gently reaches down to lift the slender Padawan braid Mav has drone since the very beginning of her training, the start of their relationship. Catches Mav’s gaze for just a moment and feels her own become moist * As this has symbolized the start of your training, this is the end of your chapter, only to begin a new one. * With one gentle stroke, she severs the Padawan braid and prompts her former Padawan to rise. * My first Knight. Carry the rank well, and know you’ve made me proud. *bows her head slowly and lets in hang before looking up to catch her Padawan’s gaze. Turns to address the crowd and the Council…:* It is my privilege to present to you, Jedi Knight Maverick. We can take the time now, for those who would like, to say a few words. *bows deeply to the Council.* ~Eve~ Proud Master to Mav And Port-O-Closet Escape Artist *My Padder could beat up your Padder!* COWD! ; SWCez! |

Re: Padawan Maverick, step forward. *standing beside her Master for the first time rather than one step behind, Mav turns and catches Master Eve's gaze, then takes her into an embrace, hugging her tight and also preventing the rest of the prying eyes from seeing what's really going on -  *Master... if I am any of those things that you said, it is because you taught and guided me. You have given me a great honor, and I will continue to make you proud as your First Knight. *turns back to the rest of the assembled Jedi, now her peers as much as they are her mentors, and feels the odd absence of the weight behind her right ear. Is saddened, but then breaks into a trademark Maverick grin*
