 Callista Sunrider, Agent JadeA hooded figure stands just outside the Jedi Temple. She address two smaller figures, also in robes. A curious crowd on onlookers gathers to watch. The wind picks up, carrying her voice to the ears of the crowd. My padawans. There was once a man who built a house. He had wanted a house for a very long time but didn't have anything to build on. One day he found a small piece of property on the edge of a town. The plot of land had fallen in to disuse ans was covered with weeds and old tires and things. He asked some of the people of the town about the little piece of property. Most of them didn't seem very interested in talking about it, but there was one or two that told him the man that owned the land had a lot of other land in other towns and didn't really have the time or money to take care of this one. The soil was poor and it wasn't really good for much. The man looked at the land for some time. It would take a lot of work, but that was shere he would build his home. He started to clear away the old tires and bits of glass and other broken pieces from the ground. Sometimes people passing by would stop to help, but most of them lost interest and soon moved on. The man worked long hours to tear away the weeds. He had to remove every trace. He tilled and fertilized the ground. He worked it over and over until he had good soil. It took him and his few friends nearly a year to make the little piece of land into something worth building on. Some of the people in the town started noticing what he was doing, and slowly word spread of this strange man who would work so hard at such a small thing. The man and his friends started gathering stones, the largest they could find. Most farmers were glad to get rid of any stones they had laying around. Some of them even paid the man to take away as many stones as he could. He used the money to buy cement. A foundation was laid and stones were piled on it one by one, sealed with the cement. Hours and days and weeks of labor went into the house and still word spread. People would come to watch as only a handful of friends built a house of stone from the ground up. The day the house was completed a large crowd filled the street all around it. There were great cheers at the last rock was laid. The man would finally have his house. A tall man stepped out of the crowd and walked toward the circle of friends. He presented a document and explained politley that the land belonged to him and lawfully the little house was his. He understood the smaller man had been inconvenienced by this misunderstanding and apologized. What could the other man do? He looked sadly at the house he had worked so hard to build and turned away to find a new place where he could start to build again. Sometimes being a padawan can feel like building a house. There is a lot of work that goes into each task as you build your character brick by brick. And at the end of it all sometimes you find that the house you helped build was really your master's and you now need to find your own padawans to help you build your own house. Callista and Chris, you have both been loyal and hardworking padawans. I could not have asked for better. You and all the padawans I have trained over the last three years, along with some very dear friends, have helped me build a house of stone that will ling stand as a monument of your hard work, no matter who lives inside. Chris, it is especially difficult for me to give up having you as a padawan. I hope the bonds of friendship that have been created between us will last for a very long time. I have considered long and carefully and have decided you are both well above worthy the level of Jedi Knight, which I confer upon you at this time. I wich you both luck in whatever futures you build and admonish you to always build on a firm foundation. Master Arbi takes one last look at the Jedi Temple, then turns and walks away. | |

Those were fun days and nights... hilarious, at times; adventurous, at others; and cherished, always. You and I have weathered many a storm here together, many changes. You have been an outstanding member of this community, and a loyal friend. Always there to encourage others - especially your Partner in Crime, during her less than productive days...  It is with great pride that I greet you now as a fellow Jedi - for you are certainly as worthy of the title as any I know. *steps forward to embrace her Partner* Congratulations.

Before she speaks, she slowly lets her gaze pan the crowd, trying to freeze the moment in her memory. The same wind that carried her Matser's voice to her picks up once again, allowing the Padawan to be heard. Arbi, I could not have asked for a better Master; after almost a year under you, it's hard to end my term as your Padawan, but I know we'll continue our bond of friendship. You've been an exemplary model for me to follow, both as a Master here on the boards, and a friend. You "raised" me with a sense of humor, and I'll never forget all of the fun times we've had here. You taught me that Masters are good for both life lessons and Ewan files. Your presence on these boards makes a world of difference for me, it wasn't the same when you had left for awhile.
