Children are a heritage of the Lord,
the fruit of the womb is his reward.
This page is dedicated to my four children, and my three beautiful blue eyed and blond haired grandchildren. My youngest child is a boy eight. It takes a lot of energy to have a child later in life. There are more women having babies later in life, and it presents it's own challenges. It also gives many joys. At least I won't have to worry about an empty nest for a while. My oldest who is married and has the three children, had her own share of heartache. At seventeen, she had a stroke, which left her unable to use her right hand like before. She overcame and graduated high school with a scholarship. She was diagnosed with a rare disease called Moya Moya,which could mean another stroke at any time. She should not have had children, but she did anyway, and they all had to be c-section. They couldn't risk her having a stroke. Now she is back in college. She uses her left hand to write, and she has a harder time comprehending, but she is a real overcomer. They wanted her to abort her last baby, they were afraid for her life, but she refused. She had a little girl , and she is adorable. I believe children are a gift from God, and they are to be loved and nurtured. They don't belong to us they are just given to us for a time. As the poet Khalil Gibran so aptly put it.
Children Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you, but not from you. And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies,but not their souls. For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you can not visit even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Even though most people love children, there are children
being abused and killed everyday.
The Bible has something to say
about those who hurt children.

he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

One of the greatest forms of child abuse, is abortion. It kills

Right To Life party. They are doing everything they can in our
state to stop the partial birth abortion.

Moya Moya Disease
Moya Moya disease is a rare neurovascular disease, that causes brain hemorrages ,which causes strokes. On the brain scan of victims
a white area that looks like "smoke" or a "puff of smoke" is visible.
That is why Moya Moya is called the puff of smoke disease.
After the stroke the person is disabled to some
extent physically and mentally. It often strikes in.
children under 10 or in young adults. It strikes without warning.
Afterwards there is always the danger of another brain hemorrage.
For some people the disease stops at this point ,and in some people it progresses.
The medical profession is not sure what causes it. There have been mostly cases in Asia
where it derived it's name. Some cases have been found in other countries. It has been
shown that in some European cases their was a recessive gene in both parents.
Moya Moya disease strikes one in a million people a year. At the time my daughter got
it she was seventeen, and there were only 7 cases in this country at that time. They
thought at first she had a brain tumor, and were going to operate. Thanks to a second
opinion , we had a vascular scan done, which showed up the hemorrage, and narrowed
blood vessels in the carotid artery in her brain. There isn't much that can
be done. Right now people who have Moya Moya are taking aspirins as blood thinners, to
improve circulation. There is usually a weakness remaining on the side affected by
the stroke.
