Angels: their work and ministry.

2.Their activities on eartha.Concerning the saved (those who have repented and believe in Christ for salvation)
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs Of salvation? (Hebrews 1:14)
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. (Revelation 22:16)
(1)They inform, instruct, and interpret concerning both the will and Word of God
Note that --kind of ministry from angels:
(a) Daniel
came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. (Daniel 7:16)
Then I lifted up mine eyes and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen,
whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz., And he said unto me, 0 Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. (Daniel 10:5,11)
(b) Zechariah
Then said I, 0 my lord, what are those? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will show thee what these be-
And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and com-fortable words. So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, Saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy- And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem(Zechariah 1:9,13,14,19)
And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him. (Zechariah 2:3)And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a Man that is wakened out of sleep, SO I answered and spoke to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord? Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, NO, MY lord- (Zechariah 4:1,4,S)
Then the angel that talked With Me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth- And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth. And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah. And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof .Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings, for they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah? (Zechariah 5:5-1 0)
0) Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth-4:1O zachariah
(c) Zachariah
And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And when.Zacharias saw, him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias. for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink , and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (Luke I.-11-17)
(d) Mary
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary. for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest.- and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David. And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no and. (Luke 1:26-33)
(e) Joseph
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife. for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:20)And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. But when Herod was dead, behold an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt. ( Mathew 2:13,19)
f.) The shepherds
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them. and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy for all people. For unto you - is born this -day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord and this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in Swadling clothes, lying in a manger.(Luke 2:9-12)
(g) The women at the tomb
And it came to Pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek Ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen. remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful man, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. (Luke 24:4-7)
(h) The apostles
And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye man of Galilee, why stand ye gazing,up into heaven? this same Jesus, Which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
(i) Philip
And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the South unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. (Acts 8:26)
(j)Cornelius
He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. A nd now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter., He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do. (Acts 10:3-6)
(k) John
And there came one of the angels which had the seven vials, and-talked with me, saying come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sits on many waters. And the angel- said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast. that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. (revelation17:7) And there came unto me one of the angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me saying, Come hither I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. (Revelation 21:9)
(2) They protect
The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. Psalm 34:
For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. Psalm 91:11
(a) Angels protected Lot from the Sodomites
But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both male, small and great- so that they wearied them-selves to find the door. (Genesis 19.1 0,11)
(b) Angels protected Elisha from the Syrian
And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an Mis- host compassed the city both with horses and on and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the L ORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw.- and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire roundabout Elisha. (11 Kings 6:15-17
(3) They comfort
And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. (I Kings 19:
Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. (Acts 27:24)
(4) They deliver
But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them (the apostles] forth... (Acts 5:19)
And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. (Acts 12:7)
(5) They minister to the believer at the moment of death
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bossom...(Luke 16:22)
(6) They announce the fall of Babylon
And after these things I saw another angelcome down from heaven having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory, And he cried mightily with 'a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is f'allen, is fallen, and is become the habitation Of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit' and cage of every unclean and hateful bird (Revelation 18:1,2)
(g) They Pour Out the seven vial judgments
And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God (Revelation 15:1)
(h) They announce Armageddon
And I saw another angel standing in the sunand he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather yourselves together , unto the supper of the Great God.( Revelation: 19:1 7)
(i) They accompany Christ at his Second Coming
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not that gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. (11 Thessalosians1:7,8)
(j)They gather the unsaved for eternal Hell
'The enemy that sowed them is the devil the harvest is the end of the world; and the; reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire SO shall it be in the end Of this world. The son of man shall send forth-his angels, and they shall gather Out Of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall Cast them into a furnace of fire. there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom Of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let himhear. (Matthew 13:39-43)
(k) They bind Satan in the bottomless pit
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. (Revelation 20:1)
