EVE
Episode 4:9

Open with Craig punching hard on the punching bag. We pan outward and over to the left to find James practicing with a staff. He spins it around before turning around swiftly to attack a dummy. Pan over farther to the left and we see Morgan practicing with her axes. She is spinning them around. We pan out father and over to the right. Eve and Jeff are sparring. Eve blocks everyone of Jeff's moves. She finally catches his arm and flips him over. He lands on his back hard. Eve rushes over to stand over him with a worried look on her face

Eve- Are you o.k.?

Jeff - (strained voice) Yeah . . . Great! (puts a weak thumbs up)

Eve helps Jeff up and he rolls his shoulders around as James and Morgan put the weapons away. Craig suddenly becomes lazy and just pushes the punching bag around as it swings back and forth.

Craig - Not like we can put any of these skills into practice anyway. There hasn't been any demon activity for weeks. Not even a sighting. It's practically deserted.

Morgan - I don't like it. It's like they are lulling us in to a false sense of security. We relax and they strike!

James - (shaking his head) Calm before the storm. That figure and her entourage are preparing. They are training to take us down. When they come out of hiding it will be explosive.

Craig - But why would Lucifer pull back all his demons? I would think he would send out more to keep us distracted from further finding out the rest of the figure's plan.

Jeff - She might be training the demons also. She could have a whole army and Danny, Danielle and Carrie could be her generals.

Eve - (picks up a dagger) What ever the reason we can't slack off. We have to be ready for what ever happens. We have to sharpen our senses, perfect out skills and discover every angel of their plan. When they do come out of hiding we want to change Carrie Danielle and Danny back when they strike we can stop them before they start.

Eve spins around and throws the dagger right into the bulls eye of the target

Craig - And until then?

Eve - We keep training. Besides that . . .

James - (watch beeps) Eve, it's time to open the centre

Eve - It's business as usual

Jeff Morgan Craig and James all blink looking at Eve blankly

Jeff - What's that?

Craig - I thought it was demons

James - Is she talking about something else?

Morgan - Don't look at me I haven't been here very long

Eve rolls her eyes and walks off

MONDAY

I wake up in the mornin'
Pull the blinds and see the sunshine
and I wonder if this Monday
will wipe the rain of yesterday

Eve is in her apartment. She finishes praying at her Eli shrine and gets up and opens up the blinds. She smiles to see the warm sun shining in.

Lets go fishing down the river
Lets go fly a kite on Primrose Hill
Take advantage of the sunshine
There's no telling when the rain comes in

Morgan steps out of her loft and meets up with Jeff who puts his arm around her. They smile as they continue to walk to Jeff's office

Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

And I'm glad to be alive

Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa) Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

I'm just glad to be alive

Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

Fade to the radio playing Appleton's "Everything Eventually" pan up from the radio to James who is standing at the bar bobbing his head slightly to the music. James is making out memberships and selling gym gloves and bottles of water. As he finishes up a sale he sees another customer at the other end of the bar. As James makes his way over to the male customer the music fades

Customer - I see you got a selection of health smoothies. Can you make me one?

James - (a huge smile spreads on his face and he almost looks excited) Sure!! Which one?

Customer - Um . . . . Triple berry

James nods with a happy smile and brings out a blender. He puts in blueberries strawberries and raspberries and some unidentifiable liquids and turns on the blender

James - (over the loud blender) I'm glad you've decided to try one, not many people are that brave considering some of the incidents we've had.

Customer - (can't hear him) What?

James - (turns off the blender and pours the drink and hands it too the customer) Here you go! (the customer hands him some money and walks off with his smoothie) Enjoy!

We follow the customer as he walks past the bar. He passes Eve who looks at him and smiles as he passes. Eve quickly does a double take and notices the smoothie in his hand. Eve's eyes go wide and she quickly runs over to James. Just as she reaches him he turns on the blender

Eve - (over the blender) James! What are you doing?

James - (smiling happily) Making smoothies

James continues on with the blender and Eve looks around panicked. Suddenly she spots something and bends down behind the counter. Suddenly the blender stops without warning. James looks at the blander confused

James - Hey!

Eve gets up with the blender plug in hand. She tosses it to the ground and reaches for the blender. James holds it out of her reach. She grasps for it anyway and tries to get it away from him but James refuses the let go and they proceed to have a tug of war with the blender.

Eve - Give me the blender James! Give me the blender!

James - No!

Eve- Give me the blender!

With a large tug Eve and James both go down, smoothie spilling everywhere.

Cut to Craig as he is going through the halls of the university with books under one arm and coffee cup in the other hand. He dodges, holds his self back and ducks out of the way as students come out form all directions. He manages to get past all of them with out spilling his coffee. He looks at his coffee and sighs before taking a sip and heading into an empty auditorium. He sets down the books and coffee just as students pile in his class. They pass by the desk and pass in their essays before heading to their respective seats.

Craig - O.k. thank you for handing in your essays on time. (mumbles to himself) I just hope I'm not crying like the last time you neglected to use MLA formatting and spell check. (speaks up again with a strained smile) O.K. so today we are talking about Hindu Gods and Goddesses. I trust you al read the chapter (looks around at his students who are all shifting around uncomfortable and there is an awkward silence) Riiighht. A quick overview then. As Dr David Frawly put it "As a universal formulation Hinduism accepts all formulations of Truth. According to the universal view there is only One Reality, but it cannot be limited to a particular name or form. Though Truth is One it is also Universal, not an exclusive formulation. It is an inclusive, not an exclusive Oneness - a spiritual reality of Being - Consciousness - Bliss, which could be called God but which transcends all names. The different Gods and Goddesses of Hinduism represent various functions of this One Supreme Divinity, and are not separate Gods."

Female Student - But isn't Hinduism a polytheistic religion?

Male Student - So what? We all have a western mentality and the Western world has prided itself in monotheism, the idea that there is only One God as the highest truth. Western religions have said that only the names and forms which refer to this One God are valid but those which appear to worship another God, or a multiplicity of divinities, must be false. They have restricted the names and forms they use in religious worship, and insist that only one set is true and correct and others are wrong or unholy. It's a bit narrow minded.

Another male student - The way the gods and goddesses represent various functions of the supreme being, isn't that like the Greek gods. I mean Aphrodite and Eros represent love, while Ares represents war.

Another Female Student - You misunderstand. Greek Gods and Goddesses were stories and part of rituals to help explain the different aspects of human behavior. Hindu gods are aspects of a supreme divinity. The Sanatana Dharma recognizes that the Divine contains both masculine and feminine attributes. Without giving proper honor to the feminine qualities a religion must be incomplete and one-sided, which must result in its teachings having negative consequences. Without recognizing the feminine aspect of Divinity one cannot claim to know God. To recognize the feminine is necessary to restore wholeness, completeness and universality.

Craig - Whoa Whoa Whoa. Before this turns into a theological debate I'd like to remind everyone that this isn't about religion and the right way to interoperate truth. But I am glad you are thinking about this and noticing comparisons. I want you to realize that no matter what any of us believe, in a way we are all cut from the same cloth and there is value in diversity. Now I'm not telling you what to believe, it's a personal decision on what path you follow. Just listen to your inner being.

Suddenly a loud stomach gurgle comes from of the students. A young man raises his hand

Student - Uh . . .Professor Summers. My insides are telling me I need to follow a path to the meal hall. Can I go?

The students laugh as Craig rolls his eyes. Fade from the classroom to the centre. Pan over to Eve and James standing by the men's washroom door. Eve is glaring at James shaking her head. James shrugs his shoulders

James - How was I supposed to know?

Eve - (leans into the door and knocks slightly) Are you o.k. in there?

Customer - (from inside the bathroom weak and sounding sick) Yeah I guess. (the same customer to ordered the smoothie from James comes out from the bathroom) I don't know what it is? I guess I better go home. Although the smoke wasn't helping

Eve - Smoke?

Customer - Yeah. In the bathroom.

The customer walks off as Eve barges into the men's bathroom

James - Hey Eve you can't go (the door swings back and whacks him in the face). . . . I guess you can.

Cut to inside the bathroom. Eve is looking around. James comes in behind her.

James - Hey! I do smell smoke

Eve puts her hand up to quiet James. She walks slowly along the length of the stalls. Suddenly she kicks a stall door open and there are four boys all around thirteen standing on top of the toilet with skateboards and cigarettes in their hands.

Cut to the centre where Eve and James are dragging out the youngsters by the collars of their shirts. Eve and James tosses them over to stand in front of them.

Boy1 - Ah man why can't you leave us alone?

Eve - (sternly) Because you are smoking in a no smoking zone! I have the right mind to call your parents

Boy2 - Oh yeah. Good luck trying to get us to tell you what the numbers are

Eve - Good point. I'll have to call the police, let them know that there are some under age smokers smoking on a no smoking property.

The boys eyes go wide and they start to look a bit panicky.

Eve - Give me the smokes! (all the boys look at her with open mouths and incredulous looks) Give them to me now or I'll call the police!

The boys grumble as they give her the cigarette packages. She points to a warning label and picture of a blackened lung on the back of the box.

Eve- Do you see this? Do you see what smoking can do to you? This is stuff is more lethal then AIDS, automobile accidents, homicides, suicides, drug overdoses, and fires combined because it kills over 430 000 people a year and the worst part is, is that it can be prevented! This stuff cuts your life down by fifteen to twenty years. It causes heart disease, heart attacks, cancer of the lungs, skin and throat. You are more susceptible to nearly all major lung diseases, including pneumonia, flu, bronchitis, emphysema and asthma! You think you'll be able to do all the stuff you do now like those fancy tricks on your skateboards when you are practically coughing up a lung. Or how easy do you think it's going to be easy when you are trying to recover from broken bones? Smoking can weaken you that way too! One woman had cancer of the throat and she had to get a hole put in her neck so she can breath but she's so addicted that she keeps on smoking . . . . through the blackened hole in her neck!

Boys(in unison) - Ewwww!

Eve - Do you want to be like that? Do want to reduce yourselves to nothing? Do you want to be so sick that you hurt everyone around you? Do you want to miss out on all the great things you can do with your life, all the fun you can have? This stuff can make you miserable not to mention put you thousands of dollars in dept just so you can get a fix. Why would you want to do that to yourselves?

Boy3 - Ah come off it! It's just a couple of smokes.

The boys all walk off grumbling except for one boy who stands there just looking at Eve.

Boy 4 - My mom died last year. . . she smoked a lot too. . . I miss her. . . I don't want to do that to my dad and little sister. (reaches in to his pocket and pulls out a lighter and gives it to Eve)

Eve smiles and puts the lighter down. She pats the boy on his head and gives him a hug.

Eve - That's pretty brave, you're a lot stronger then your friends out there, and don't let them tell you different. You got to remain strong for all their sakes. When ever you feel like you can't do or you are being pressured, remember your mom and your family. It will set you straight.

The boy gives a nod and walks off with skateboard in hand. James leans over to Eve.

James - Intense method you used

Eve - I saw Alex use it once. She scared four socialites out of smoking when she told them their skin would be yellow and wrinkly by time they're twenty.

James - Well it wasn't as successful this time around. It looks like you only got through to one of them.

Eve - Yeah but getting through to one means there's hope. All it takes is one with enough courage and who knows . . . you can change the world.

James - (smiles) Well we'll certainly try!

Before James can walk off through Eve pulls him back by the back off his collar.

Eve - And I'm doing my part by preventing you from making anymore smoothies!

James - Uhhhh!!!!!

Cut to Craig who is walking along the hall when he hears a rumbling. He looks at the pictures on the wall as they are practically shaking off the hooks. Craig quickly dodges to the side with his hand holding another cup of coffee straight in the air. He flattens himself against the wall as the football team runs and stomps past down the hall. Craig un flattens himself from the wall and looks at his coffee and all over himself. He hasn't spilt any. He sighs in relief and takes a big gulp of his coffee. He looks around before heading to another class.

Cut to a dusty office. We pan over to Morgan who is in front of a sunny window. She swings around in her chair with a sigh and puts her elbow on her desk and cradles her chin in her hand. She looks really bored.

Morgan - I am so bored. I mean, we could be out there. Fighting the good fight, kicking ass, making the scum of the underworld pay and yet we're stuck here, waiting for them to strike. Oh oh, I know they're plan. They are trying to kill us with boredom. Boredom! Or maybe they are making us go insane. . . Oh yeah oh yeah! I feel it. I can feel it! You know what? We should just go in there. Go into hell with a full on assault and kick the hell right out Lucifer's ass !

Cut to Jeff and a current female client on the other side of the room across from Morgan. They are both looking at her dumbfounded. It's so silent you can almost hear crickets in the background.

Jeff - (begins laughing unsteadily to break the mood) Oh Morgan . . .(looks to client)yeah, uh, yeah . . . she's . . .She's over worked. You know all work and no play. Yeah I should uh . . . give her a vacation. . . yeah. . . . (a moment of silence) Right so you want to know if your husband is having an affair. Well we can do that, but of course there will be our expenses, like equipment, photography and so on and then there is our basic fee.( the client nods eager to get out there) Great. So Morgan could you make up a file for this lady.

Morgan - Uhhhhhhh! (drops her head to the desk with a loud thud)

Jeff - You know what, you're busy. I'll do it.

Fade from Jeff to later on when the sun is setting behind New York city. Fade to inside the centre. Jeff and Morgan are sparring and James is cleaning up a few things. Craig and Eve are talking.

Craig - I swear my students, they can be creative but some of them are really literal minded. If some of them knew what we do day after day . . .

Eve - It's true, our lives are anything but typical.

James - (walks up to the bar and empties a dustpan in the bin) Well our lives might start getting a little more typical. Do you know I've had five full good nights of sleep.

Craig - (nods and takes a sip of his coffee) Yeah me too but it has done nothing to slow my caffeine fix.

Morgan - (bounds up and slams her hands on the counter) Hey!

Craig startled jumps back and spills coffee all over himself

Craig - OH NO WAY!!

Morgan - Sorry. Any word on the happenings of the night.

Craig - (scowls as he tries to clean coffee off himself and check the computer) Nothing.

Morgan - Nothing?

Craig - There is nothing, not even a peep. Zip Zilch Nada.

Eve - (sighs) So what's every body's plans for the night?

Craig - Well I'm going to go home and clean this coffee off me. Then I'm going to try and grade some papers (sarcastic) Yippee!

Craig gathers his things and nods as he heads out.

Morgan - I swear I'm going to die of boredom. Come on Jeff let's do something

Jeff - Like what?

Morgan - Well let's see. I'm bored and I'm full of pent up energy. What do you think?

Morgan walks out of the centre. Jeff looks back to Eve and James before turning back and laughing excitedly.

Jeff - Amazons rule! HA HA!

Jeff practically dances out of the centre leaving Eve and James laughing in his wake. Fade out

COMMERCIAL

WEDNESDAY

Come and meet me on the corner
Just pick me up and we can drive
Now I'm sitting feeling pretty
That’s' the music on the radio

Open with Jeff he stops outside a house. Natalie comes out of the house and waves good bye to her Mom. Jeff gives a small wave and smile as Natalie gets in as they drive off

Feel I'm walking away with running
With my favorite song I'm humming
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

Cut to Craig as he grabs a cup of coffee and blinks his eyes a lot as he tries to look over one of the papers. He suddenly gets a message on his pager. He checks who it is. He rolls his eyes and grabs his jacket

I walked in to my house
Saw a spider in the bathtub
Then I screamed and then it ran
Cause it was just as scared as I was
Call my mom to tell her I love her
Cause she always has been there for me
See at last I'm with a family
That'll love me till eternity

Cut to Eve as she is watering some plants out on the balcony of her apartment. She sees a little spider and she let's it walk along her finger and hand. Pan inside to where James is. He is on the phone talking to his Mom. He is smiling but it looks like he is insuring her that everything is all right

Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

And I glad to be alive

Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

I'm just glad to be alive

Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

Cut to Eve's apartment, with a close up on a radio that Craig turns down. We pan up to see his slightly annoyed face as he passes by Eve to flop down on the couch,

Eve - Well hello to you too.

Craig - This is not going to take long is it? I mean I know I have the day off but I'm using it to grade papers . . . which are currently the bane of my existence . . . and I'd like to get back to it. You don't understand the mind set I have to be into to look at them objectively and not want to cry at all the mistakes. Not only do they not spell or grammar check any of their work but they also do not use proper formatting. One kid, although I appreciate the creativity, writes out her whole paper like she's telling a story . . . it looks like a script or something. Who does that sort of thing?!!!

Craig, Eve, Jeff, James and Natalie all look to the audience and all around them because they know "exactly" who writes like that!

Eve - (focusing on the task at hand) Well sorry to drag you away but I think we need to talk about how we can get more insight on Lucifer's plan. That's why Natalie's here, she's going to . . . Where's Morgan?

Jeff - Oh she decided to skip out on this meeting. All this down time is making her go a little (circle's his finger around his temple) you know. So she's doing something else today

Eve - What?

Jeff - Relaxing . . . .

Cut to a plane flying. Cut to inside the plane where Morgan is in full sky diving gear. She puts on her Para shoot and her helmet. The instructor opens the plane door.

Instructor - Alright everyone I want you to . . .

Morgan pushes the Instructor out of the way and immediately jumps out of the plane.

Cut back to Jeff in Eve's apartment

Jeff - . . . sort of.

Eve - Right . . . Well I'll let . . .

Natalie - Oh Jeff gross!

Jeff - What?!

Natalie - (squints her eyes in disgust and looks away from Jeff) Oh man . . . Ewe! Look I really don't want images of you and Morgan doin' the nasty every time I look your way

Jeff - Hey! No one asked you to look

Natalie - I don't want to be anywhere where your mind goes but you are radiating so much sexual . . .

Jeff jumps across to Natalie to shut her up but Natalie dodges past him and gets him in a head lock.

Natalie - You think I didn't see that one comin'? Huh? Huh? Yeah!!! (gives him a nuggie)

Jeff swings his arms about before he finally wraps them around Natalie's neck and gets her in a head lock. James and Eve are looking back and forth between them confused.

Eve - Right . . .(goes over to the pair and takes each one by the ear and pulls them apart)

Natalie&Jeff - (in unison) Owe! Owe! Owe!

Eve - (puts each on a separate chair) That's enough out of each of you

Jeff - But . . .

Eve - Not another word! Now Natalie, you were going to tell us away we can get better insight about our enemy's plans

Natalie - (sticks her tongue out at Jeff then looks to Eve) It's not so much you, but James. As you know he's been considerably weakened by his stunt with the Demon/Muse Myrhinne. However there may be away to restore him to full strength and maybe even boost his power.

James - Is that possible?

Natalie - It may mean you will have to undergo a trial by fire if you pass you will gain strong insight beyond all time and realms with great control and ease. If you should fail it could mean . . . death

Eve James Jeff and Craig all look startled by this.

Natalie - (quickly) It's not certain though. The Prophet Effect is complicated. I have to do more research into it. It's just a possibility that you might want to keep open

Craig - What about Lucifer? Have you sensed anything abnormal? How does Lucifer's protégé know everything about us?

Natalie - I haven't sensed any imbalance. If Lucifer has broken natural law there is no evidence

Eve - That's because everything is balanced. Think about it. This figure is my equal and my opposite but she is also picking people that would be equal opposites to my friends. Danny used to be a cop, he taught Jeff everything he knows. Morgan's destiny was laid out by a shaman ness, Danielle's was laid out by a shaman and she is learning the ways of an Amazon. For all we know Carrie could be learning what James knows. She could be leaning how to foresee the future.

Craig - Don't you need to be psychic to do that?

Natalie - No, there are many ways to tell the future. There are tarot cards, tea leaves etc. Any amateur can learn but someone who knows how to harness the skills really can do it.

Eve - Lucifer has hand picked a team to match and beat us. He only needs one more.

Everyone looks to Craig

Craig - What?

Eve - Is there anyone who taught you your craft, or who you taught?

Craig - Only my grandmother but she's dead.

Eve - Is there anyone else who knows everything you do?

Craig - Alex has known me the longest. She knows almost everything I do. But she wouldn't turn on us. She's already been down that dark path and she's a God she wouldn't get brainwashed as easily as those others did.

Jeff - But that must be the next phase of their plan. Learn the skills we know but also track down the fifth member of their team. Some one like Craig.

Eve - So that must be the next part of our task.

Cut to Craig and Eve downstairs in the centre. While other people are working out around them, they are on a matt in the corner sparring. Craig does a roundhouse kick that Eve flips back from. Upon landing on her feet Craig sends a few punches Eve's way which she deflects easily. Craig spins around and attempts to backhand Eve but she deflects the blow then holds on to his arm and locks her other hand behind his head. Eve brings Craig to his knees in this hold. Craig is struggling. Eve on the other hand looks thoughtful

Eve - You know I think you're right about Alex. She wouldn't fall for Lucifer's plan, she's better then that. But who else would be a match for you? Did you have any mentors, people who worked on research with you, anyone in the University?

Craig is a burst of strength uses his body weight to flip Eve over him, breaking her hold. She rolls over and gets to her feet as Craig swings his legs around to propel himself up.

Craig - Acquaintances mostly and no one who knows demons to the extent I do. Any one who does, I only know them through correspondence. The only person who might be a threat is Dr Newman but his taken leave for awhile. Somehow though I don't think they'd use him, the man is like a ticking time bomb.

Craig jumps up and spins around with a high kick. Eve ducks and rolls over dodging the kick completely. As Craig lands he swings around behind him to hit Eve. She leans back to avoid the hit and hits Craig in the stomach making him double over slightly. Eve uses this shift in his weight to knock the feet out from under him flipping him over on to his back. Eve grabs his arm and gets him into another hold.

Eve - Still it's best we don't rule out anyone. He may be crazy but that just might be what they are looking for. We need to be careful and keep an eye out and especially on him. Do you know when he'll be back?

Craig - Not a clue but I'll look into it.

Craig hits a pressure point on Eve's chest making Eve lessen her grip giving Craig time to put his hand behind her head and flip her over on to her back. As Craig gets up Eve does so just as quickly.

Eve - Nice move!

Craig - Just learning some new skills

Eve - (smiles) New skills huh? Sounds to me like dirty tricks

Craig and Eve begin play fighting now, pretending to be boxing and throwing fake punches. Suddenly Craig grabs Eve by the arm and pulls her into a hug but Eve flips him over her shoulder landing him on his back. Eve gets on top and she begins to tickle him. Both are laughing as they struggle with each other. Suddenly a pair of feet come up beside them. The person coughs loudly. Both Eve and Craig look up to see James scowling at them both.

James - Do you mind? You're in public and you're disturbing the customers. Keep the play time to after hours.

Eve and Craig look guiltily around themselves and get up off the ground, suddenly in a very awkward moment. James walks away scowling. Craig looks around for a moment then looks back at Eve.

Craig - Uh hey, I was wondering, we're, uh, sort of having this little family dinner tonight and I thought maybe you'd like to come..

Eve - (surprised) I'm honoured that you'd ask.

Craig - Well I think the last time you got to meet them we're under some very bad circumstances. I thought maybe you could meet my family when my soul wasn't in jeopardy.

Eve - (smiles and nods) All right. It sounds like fun. James is working extensively with Natalie tonight but I'm not really going to be needed so yeah I can go.

Craig - (smiles) Cool. ( gives a slight nod to Jeff who is sneaking up behind Eve)

Suddenly Jeff grabs Eve from behind lifting her up. Craig goes to grab her feet but Eve traps his head between her feet. Suddenly with a great burst of strength Eve spins her self around making both Craig and Jeff flip over on to their back while Eve lands on her feet. Eve walks off as Natalie bursts out laughing.

Natalie - Got to do better then that pencil dick!

Both Craig and Jeff look at each other as they groan in pain as we fade from this scene, to later in the early evening. Jeff Natalie and James are in James and Eve's apartment setting up candles and incense.

James - Are you sure Morgan is alright? She's been gone the whole day

Jeff - She's fine. She's just taking a good hard look at things . . .

Cut to a group of people standing at a bridge. A male instructor is standing before them.

Instructor - Now remember to always have the proper equipment. Bungee jumping is great thrill but the bungee cord will not always save you.

Pan up to see Morgan in full gear with the bungee cord around her ankles on the ledge of the bridge. She is looking down at the scene before her.

Instructor - I suggest . . .

Morgan - BONSAI!!

Morgan jumps off the ledge

Cut back to Jeff

Jeff - . . . sort of.

Cut to Craig and Eve walking up to the entrance of his parents house. Craig is casually dressed while Eve is in a simple blue dress.

Eve - I hope this is appropriate. I've never been to a family dinner before. I've never had a family to have dinner with before.

Craig - You look fine and don't worry you'll always be accepted among my family and you'll never be without people who care. (he smiles at Eve and opens the door to his house.)

Cut to inside the Summers Household. It's just as it was in season two's "Family Matters" except the fabrics and the colours of the house instead of drab whites and beiges are now warm red orange and yellow colours.

Craig - Hello? Mom? Dad?

Serena comes out of the kitchen and hurries over to Craig and gives him a hug

Craig - Hey Mom! (breaks away) You remember Eve

Serena - Of course (smiles and gives Eve a hug to returns the hug which is warm if not a little awkward) Go on in to the dining room. Dinner will be on shortly

Craig leads Eve in to a large dining room with wonderfully polished oak table covered in a white table cloth. The silver ware and fine china is out.

Eve - Whoa!

Craig - I'm not home much but when I am mom likes to make it into an event.

Bobby - Only the best for our boy!

Craig and Eve look to Bobby. Bobby embraces his son warmly

Craig - Hey Dad

Bobby - (looks to Eve) You're looking well if not a little tired. Running the centre by yourself and heading patrol must leave you quite exhausted.

Eve - (shrugs) No rest for the weary I suppose

Eve gives a Bobby a small and awkward hug and just as she steps past Bobby she runs into Chris with his arms wide open and his lips puckered into a kiss. Eve jumps back a little.

Craig - Chris leave her alone!

Chris - What? Don't I deserve a warm hello?

Craig - Light a fire and I'll make sure you get one

Craig takes Eve around to a side of the table and pulls her seat out so she can sit down. Craig occupies the chair next to her before Chris can get to it. Serena comes in with a large chicken and sets it down before Eve who looks at it wide eyed as everyone else sits down ready to eat.

Eve - This looks wonderful Serena thank you

Craig - Yeah mom you sure spared no expense. You didn't have to go to all this trouble but thank you

Serena - (smiles warmly) It's no trouble at all.

Everyone looks to Chris expecting something

Chris - Uh yeah! Rub a dub dub! Thanks for the grub mom!

Chris leans over the table and rips a chicken leg off the chicken and takes a big bite out of it looking straight at Eve who looks back at him both disgusted and startled.

Cut to James and Natalie in the middle of a circle of candles. They are facing each other kneeling and holding each other at the forearms. Natalie is speaking in soft tones.

Natalie - Let the world slip away. Let all that is physical become nothing more then sand that can slip though your fingers, nothing more then water that can float away. Concentrate on the here and now, the sound of my voice. Live in this single moment, stretch it out among your life time, among many life times . . .

A load snort of laughter comes from Jeff. Natalie broken out of her concentration looks at Jeff angrily.

Natalie - Do you mind?

Jeff puts his hands up in surrender and looks away. Natalie goes back to concentration with James.

Natalie -(back to soft tones) Live in this moment. Spread it across time and space. Feel in lengthening, feel your self lengthening, traveling along the moment, go to where ever it takes you, see what it wants you too see. Become one with moment, the vision

Jeff bursts out laughing again breaking both James and Natalie out of their concentration. Natalie stands up to confront Jeff.

Natalie - You are such a non-believer!

Jeff - (rolls his eyes) Oh come on! (mockingly imitates Natalie) Stretch the moment, stretch it across many life times. Become one with the vision.

Natalie - You have very literal sense of time. A moment is just a moment to you but for those who are seers, time means nothing, they can see forward into the future and back into the past, Our minds surpass the physical, the literal. Learning to acquire this sense of time, letting the vision take you where it wants to go is the first step in being able to control it.

Jeff - Blah Blah Blah

Natalie launches herself at Jeff ready to attack him but he is ready for her. They both get tangled and manage to get each other in head lock again. As they struggle James goes over to the counter and sits down and sighs looking at the two confused.

James - I foresee that the moments are going to stretch into a long night.

Jeff looks over the counter of the kitchen and picks up a banana which he peels and takes a big bite out of.

Cut back to the Summers Household in the dining room. As they all eat, Chris is swinging around his chicken leg talking with his mouth full.

Chris - So most people think that I am putting myself right in the line of fire, like right in temptations way but I think it's a better way for me to learn about magic the right way, you know the good side. So that's why I'm working at this Wicca and herb shop. I mean, yeah it's retail but I'm learning to get my life back on track while learning about the magical life forces and earning some money.

Eve - ( a little disgusted by Chris talking with his mouth full but happy for him all the same) Good for you.

Serena - We're all very proud of you Chris.

Bobby - What about you Craig? How's the classes going?

Craig - Well the kids are trying but they are all very bright and creative students. If only they would learn how to write essays

Bobby - And the demon hunting?

Craig - Slow actually. Very slow. There hasn't been any activity

Serena - That's good isn't it?

Craig - No mom it's like the calm before the storm. Something big is going to happen. It's only a matter of time and we have to be prepared. You know this figure I told you about, well she's not going to be like the others we've fought. They were all impulsive controlled by hate and emotion. This one, well she seems very patient and precise, she not going to make the mistakes the others have.

Serena - Oh it's all so depressing . . .(looks to Eve) Eve hun, are you seeing anyone?

Craig - Mom!

Eve - Um . . . not anyone at the present time.

Serena - Because ever since Alex had been away Craig has been ever so lonely

Craig - Mom!!!

Serena - Well dear I just think it's time you get out there again. You need to get your mind off all this demon hunting and start building some sort of like for yourself and Eve is very lovely person . . .

Eve - I think, given my situation and other circumstances it wouldn't be a good idea for me to get involved with anyone

Craig - There you see Mom . . .

Serena - Oh dear you know we've had this problem before. You always insist on being alone. Are you gay?

Craig - (scandalized) MOM!!

Chris - (laughs a little) Oh yeah you are so gay!

Eve smiles a little in spite of her self

Bobby - Serena leave the boy alone!

Serena - It's alright if he is!

Bobby - He's not gay he's just not interested in having his mother set him up

Serena - I'm just concerned!! I can be concerned about my boys if I want to. I just want them to be happy!!!

Chris - Ah yeah! Craigy -poo needs help from his mommy!

Craig - Kiss Ass!

Serena - Don't talk to your brother that way!!

Bobby - Serena they are not boys

Serena - Well if they stopped acting like it . . .

As the Summers family continues arguing. Eve sits at the table looking down at her food shaking slightly trying very hard not to laugh.

Cut to later that night out side the Summers home. Craig and Eve are standing at the entrance saying good bye to Bobby.

Craig - Thanks for inviting us Dad and sorry about the potato on the walls

Eve walks away trying very hard not to laugh

Bobby - Well I didn't think family dinner would turn into a family food fight but it will come off don't worry. (looks over to Eve walking away) Is she o.k. She was very quiet the whole night.

Craig - Yeah she's fine

Bobby - Well you are both welcome back anytime.

Craig - Thanks Dad. See ya!

Craig walks over to Eve who is waiting beside the cab. Craig opens the door for her and she gets in.

Cut to inside the cab as Eve and Craig both settle in and the driver starts off. There is silence for a moment

Craig - Go on let it out

Eve bursts out laughing. She just laughs and laughs as Craig rolls his eyes

Eve - Oh!! Your family is great! That is the best time I've had in a long time!! (doubles over still laughing) Oh oh I have stitches!

Cut to Eve and James apartment.. Jeff is on the lap top and his cell phone. Behind him James is trying very hard to drag a hopping mad Natalie, bent on kicking Jeff's ass, out of the apartment.

Jeff - (on the cell phone) Nope, nothing again! . . . I'm serious, not in any sector, anywhere. So where are you anyway? I've been worried.

Cut to Morgan in a rowdy bar, in the midst of a bar fight, talking on her cell phone

Morgan - Oh you know, just seeing the sights and meeting the people . . .

Morgan punches out a guy who comes barreling toward her, ducks as a guy is thrown over the bar and then grabs a beer bottle and smashes it over another guy's head.

Morgan - . . . sort of.

Morgan turns around facing the bar. One thug runs up behind her and she swings her fist up to punch the guy out.

COMMERCIAL

SUNDAY

Dressing up with no effort
Got my hair up in a pony tail
My jeans are getting rugged
Gonna buy myself another pair

Open with a pan around Eve's bedroom as it is suddenly filled with sunlight as Eve puts up the blinds. She walks over to her mirror and puts her back into a pony tail. She smiles and nods in approval before walking out her door

Got a call from my boyfriend
Saying he'll be here at seven
Said he made a reservation
At a local dinin' station

Cut to Morgan walking down the street talking on her cell phone. She has a note and a single dragon snapper in her hand. She is smiling and laughing. Pan in on the note that says "see you soon!"

As I walk down the street
Puddles soaking up my feet
In the water there's reflections
Of the city streets projections

Cut to James out doing his morning jogging. He is running through the puddles before he comes up on the centre

Stand and face me
Just in case you
Miss a chance or two embrace me
Keep on walking holding hands tight
Lets enjoy this dark and rainy night
Started here, started there,
But my skirts a knot and I don't care

Eve walks out side the centre as James comes up. She smiles and hands him a bottle of water He smiles and accepts it graciously before walking in side

Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

Cut to a car driving passed with the radio up high playing Appleton's Everything Eventually. As it drives past it fades into the background. Morgan and Eve are outside the centre talking too each other.

Morgan - I can't explain it. It's like I needed action like some sort of drug. I'm so used to it everyday that I got used to adrenaline, the rush! I've been going out and getting into all the death defying stunts I could, it's like I had a death wish or something. It's probably because I'm going without patrol and the hunt for so long that I had to find another way to get out all this pent up energy. What do you think?

Eve - (confused look on her face) I think you have anger management issues

Morgan - (thinks about it for a minute) No that's not it.

Eve - So where are you off to?

Morgan - Jeff's taking me out for Sunday brunch. I think this is the only morning we've been actually able to get up at a reasonable time and go.

Eve - I know what you mean. James has taken up jogging.

Jeff drives by the centre and beeps. He stops by the centre. Morgan smiles at Eve and gets in the car as they drive off. Eve looks at the car driving down the street and smiles. She walks into the centre.

Cut to inside. There are a few people working out but it is relatively quiet. James comes out from the backroom showed and dressed. He smiles at Gail and pats her on the arm before walking up to Eve who has just sat down watching the people.

James - Hey.

Eve - (looks at him and smiles)Hey

James - Have you eaten yet? (Eve shakes her head) Did you want to go out? For brunch I mean. Gail can look after things here if your worried, it's pretty slow.

Eve - (looks away for a moment and then smiles and nods) Yeah, that would be nice.

Cut to a semi classy restaurant. Eve and James are suitably dressed and they smile as they are escorted to a table by a waiter. The waiter holds out the chair for Eve and she sits down. James sits across from her and accepts the menus graciously. Eve is looking through the menu. James looks at his but keeps looking back at Eve. He sets the menu down.

James - I think I'm just going to go for the buffet. That looks good.

Eve - (sets the down menu)Mmmm, that sounds good.

James - Eve . . .

Eve - Yeah.

James - Um, I don't know what's going on with you and Craig, and I'm not sure what I missed while I was away but if you two have gotten together, I just wanted you to know that . . .

Eve - James. (James stops and looks at her) Nothing is going on with me and Craig. He loves Alex, he's just lonely. I love him but it would never be anything more then a deep friendship, he feels that same way.

James - (breathes a sigh of relief) Oh wow, that's a relief

Eve - James why did you bring me here?

James - I kinda wanted to make sure you couldn't get away from me. I need to tell you something. . .

Eve - (warily)James . . .

James - No let me finish. . . Eve, you are the most extraordinary person I've ever known. You have real purpose and an extraordinary mission that really means something and it means the world to keep on fighting for it, to fight for the good that is left in this world. No matter what happens between us I'm always going to be here for you.

Eve - I know.

James - But I need you to know that I . . .(sighs) why is this so hard? . . . I love you

Eve - (reaches across the table and takes his hand) I know James

James - Then why do you look so sad?

Eve - Because I don't deserve your love.

James - Why? Because of your past? Because of mine?

Eve - No, because of our present, our situation. It's not the sort of circumstance that you want to have a relationship in. Granted no situation is ideal, but I don't know if I can always give you all the love and attention you deserve. You need someone who can give you all the things you want.

James - What I want is to be with you, what ever that means.

Eve - Oh James.

James - (takes her other hand) Eve . . .

Eve - (suddenly spots something across the restaurant) Oh look! It's Morgan and Jeff! Let's go say hi.

James - Wha!

Eve grabs James and pulls him out of his seat and over to where Morgan and Jeff are sitting.

Eve - Hey guys! How are you?

Morgan and Jeff look up horrified.

Jeff - What are you two doing here?

Eve - (speaking quickly)We were going to have brunch but now that we see you two we'd thought we'd join you. (grabs two chairs and pushes James down to sit in one and she sits in the other) Have you guys ordered, we haven't ordered yet but we thought about the buffet, what about you, what have you thought about?

Morgan - I'm thinking I oughtta knock you upside the head.

Eve is about to retort when Craig comes up to them.

Craig - Well hey guys, what are you doing here?

Morgan - We were going to have a quiet brunch alone but it's turning into a party. What are you doing here?

Craig - I was going to have brunch too

Morgan - You have got to be kidding

Craig - No, actually I come here for brunch often how'd you think Jeff knew about this place.

Morgan hauls off and smacks Jeff on the arm. Craig pulls up a chair and sits down.

Craig - So have you guys thought about the buffet?

Cut to later Craig, Eve James Morgan and Jeff are all sitting around the table having a good time talking.

Craig - And so one of my students says " Greek Gods and Goddesses are just stories, to explain human life and activity." I nearly burst out laughing. If any of those kids could see us and what we've been through . . . Alex might have blown a gasket if she had of heard any one of them. . . .

Fade to a little later

Eve - (through tears and laughter) And Craig's mom says . . ."oh dear are you gay?" and they all break out into this argument which later escalated into a food fight. There was mashed potato everywhere!

Craig - (rolls his eyes) Ha Ha

Fade to a little later, Morgan is talking

Morgan - It was great! I totally freaked out all my instructors by not waiting for any instructions. It was fun until one of them called me a crazy bitch. So I bitch slapped him.

Eve - About your anger management issues . . .

Fade to a little later

James - It was great Eve in total hero fashion kicked open the stall door and proceeded to give these four kids a lecture on smoking. It was actually pretty inspiring. She definitely changed one kid's attitude . . .

Fade to later Jeff is talking now but he's a litter perturbed

Jeff - So if Morgan hasn't completely scared away my client by blowing our cover, this will turn out to be a really great boost for the business.

Craig - (looks to Morgan) I can't believe you did that

Jeff - Bored out of her mind literally, just kept yakking on and finished off with slamming her head on the desk (Morgan hits him on the arm again) Owe!

Cut to later as the group has finished paying their bills getting ready to leave.

Eve - So what's everyone's plans for this after noon.

James - I really don't feel like going to the centre.

Jeff - Yeah and the case is pretty wrapped up, I don't know what else we can do.

Craig - I have an idea. If you're interested.

Cut to later that afternoon. Jeff, Morgan, James, Eve and Craig are all standing in a line. They are looking at something but they all seem to be confused at what they are looking at. They al cock their heads to the side as they continue to look.

Morgan - I don't get it.

We pan around to see that they are all looking at this huge art piece by Jackson Pollack and New York Museum of Modern Art.

Eve - Yeah, I don't either.

Craig - You're not supposed to get it . . . it's . .. it's art.

James - It's scribbles

Cut to a montage of scenes. Love Can Move Mountains by Celine Dion plays in the background as Morgan Jeff James Eve and Craig tour around New York City. They take a ferry trip around Staten Island, tour the Statue of Liberty, in the gift shop James puts a Statue of Liberty hat on Eve's head. They take a tour around Rockefeller Centre, They tour around the Lincon Centre, they walk out halfway through a Broadway show with confused and slightly bored looks on their faces.

Cut to the group walking through Centre Park, all eating ice creams cones.

James - You know Central Park looks really different during the day.

Eve - It's odd how such a beautiful place can harbor such evil sometimes.

Morgan - God I can't believe how much stuff I've missed out on. I've been in New York for over a year and I haven't done any of the stuff I did today.

Craig - Are you kidding me? I've lived her all my life and I've never done half the stuff I did today. I guess I just assumed it 's always been here so I could do it at anytime. But then life gets in the way

Jeff - And other things

Craig - You said it. This is the most normal week I've had since . . . well it's been a long time since I had a "normal" week

Eve - Normal? Craig, on any given day we deal with our businesses, our family, our friends and demons. This has been the most abnormal week since I've been here!

Fade from the scene to later in the evening. The sun is setting over New York City. Fade to Eve's apartment. Jeff and James are looking through a selection of movies for the night. Pan over to Eve in the kitchen who has just poured a bag of popcorn into a bowl. pan over along the counter to where Craig is checking the sectors on his lap top and Morgan is watching him. Appleton's Everything Eventually plays on the radio

I got home, kissed my daughter
Jumped into bed with my lover
Listen to Harry Potter
On the cassette player audio

Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
And I'm glad to be alive
Da da da, da da da, da da da
With you out by my side
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
I'm glad to be alive
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
You make me glad to be alive
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
Whatever its like outside
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
I'm just glad to be alive
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)
With you out by my side
Da da da, da da da, da da da (aaa)

Morgan walks over to the radio yanks the plug out and smashes the radio on the ground. Everyone looks at her confused

Morgan - I really hate that song!

Eve - So we were talking about your anger management issues . . .

Morgan gives Eve a mock glare before walking back over to Craig

Morgan - Anything now?

Craig - Nope

Morgan - Anything now?

Craig - Nope

Morgan - Anything now?

Craig - Nope

Morgan Anything now?

Craig - Not since the last time you asked which was a like a second ago!

Morgan - Just asking.

Morgan goes over to the couch and plops down next to Eve and begins to sulk

Eve - I don't know why you insist on bugging Craig, while he's on that thing, every night.

Morgan - Well excuse me for craving a little excitement in my life. I mean come on! Don't you miss it?

Eve - No

Morgan - Well you're different. You've lived with excitement since the day you were born I on the other . . .

Suddenly a beeping goes off on the computer

Jeff - What is it?

Craig - (checking the computer) Demons! Three of them. Not that far from here!

Craig, Morgan, Eve, James and Jeff all look from one another, none of the moving for a minute. All of a sudden in a rush and burst of energy they all get up and grab a weapon from the closet and pile out the door. Just before leaving Morgan pumps a yes into the air and heads out in a rush!
