A comedy-drama with a supernatural twist, Dead Like Me takes the unusual step of killing off its main character in the very first episode. And an untimely and unusual death it is too for teenager Georgia Lass (Ellen Muth), though it is one she wakes up from.
Entering her after-life, George learns that she is to become a Grim Reaper – one of a group of beings whose job it is to take people’s souls at the time of their deaths and help them pass from one world to the next. George isn’t thrilled about her new role but, under the guidance of senior Reaper Rube (played by The Princess Bride and Alien Nation’s Mandy Patinkin), she quickly becomes integrated into the life of a Reaper.
Newcomer Ellen Muth is certainly excited to be involved with Dead Like Me, and is very enthusiastic about her character. 'I think George is great,' Muth says. 'She's one of a kind and more than I could ever ask for.' Meanwhile, critics have been similarly kind to Dead Like Me, with the series so far receiving rave reviews.
